Thanks for the comments guys! They mean a lot. The Premiership has been such an experience for a fan who really isn't used to it.
As a Wolves fan, you start off wondering where the points are coming from week after week; then you end up demanding more than you're perhaps entitled to. All the time you look on with mingled infatuation and fright at some thoroughly unattainable players.
So me (and the old man) enjoyed seeing the big name players at the Molineux. Most of them disappointed, and you leave the ground thinking they're overhyped. (Carrick and Barry to name but two)
Then there was Drogba. Words failed us. He was the only player (Bellamy was actually very impressive too in fairness) who was was a million times better than everyone tells you.
The fact he never once shirked a challenge, got behind the ball, never winced, moaned, or grumbled once, made me think that he's really misunderstood.
I'm backing him to sign for us. Maybe when he's 39!
PS: Also thought Obi Mikel was your best midfielder against us. Another specimen.
