1984 that game was!!!

One of the scariest days in my life,I was 14 and after city leading 3 - 0 Chelsea only went and scored 3 times in the last 5 mins if I remember correctly.At the final whistle we couldn't get out of the bob bank and all I could see at the gates which were locked was bottles,sticks and stone flying through the air and hundreds going toe to toe,we heard Chelsea were trying to get in the gates and had run the pitch and were heading to the bob bank exit,I was on the brink of being crushed and decided to climb the wall which lead to the cul de sac of houses my mate was carrying a few pounds and didn't make it.walking through the houses I thought I was safe until what seemed like hundreds of chelsea piling into the street,as I tried to forget about the sh*t in my pants I dived over the wall of one of the houses and banged on the door,this old guy answered and said I had better come in.I stood there shaking,final score was on and the guy asked if I wanted a cup of tea?,I asked for water which his mrs brought out in a shuffling manner,the street was filling up with chelsea and then came the onslought,the guy started telling me I was a f**king disgrace to society and my breed should be locked up,he continued to pummel me for about 5 mins as I stood watching final score trying to block him out,he kept shouting and started to get louder and more aggressive even though he was in his 70's,then I snapped and said f**k it,I said thank you and decided I would rather be out there than taking this sh*t so I bombed outside,luckily a few Cardiff had stormed in and were having it with Chelsea,I ran out of the cul de sac and a guy about 16 was being ragged by a police dog,he was being dragged by his leg so I decided to grab the lad by the armpits and try to drag him from the dog which I managed after what seemed ages but was probably only a few seconds.I never got his name but we headed off to find some medical care for his bites, I am sure there were bottles being thrown from a departing train full of Chelsea.I wonder if that guy is on this forum.I'm not sure how many Chelsea brought that day but it seemed like 5000.were you there and what do you remember about it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-9-folWUlE Can someone explain to me why Chelsea and Cardiff have had issues in the past? Nearly three-quarters of matches had no arrests at all.The overall arrest total was down 9% on the 2009/10 season.The report calls on football clubs and the authorities to stop using the tactic to police away fans and “concentrate in tackling troublemakers and incidents of disorder directlyâ€.Cardiff City Supporters’ Club travel officer Vince Alm said bubble matches made fans feel “like second-class citizensâ€.“It’s ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous,†he said. “It’s a waste of taxpayers’ money and it’s also an infringement of people’s civil liberties.â€He said bubble matches were unfair as they impose restrictions on all fans rather than tackling troublemakers.“It’s like any sporting fixture – occasionally you get the odd incident but provided you look after the idiots then it doesn’t take a lot of resources.â€But Sports Grounds Safety Authority senior inspector Malcolm Collier said in “exceptional circumstances†bubble matches were the only way to police a game when authorities felt other options were not adequate.“There are times and places when these would appear to be the only resolution to a very, very difficult problem,†he said.“We want to get back to football being the beautiful game and if this becomes the only option [for a game] then in all honesty it has to be considered.â€Cardiff City FC did not respond to requests for a statement on the report.

Im sure a few prem clubs will soon know what a bubble trip is!! We have them for swansea, leeds, milwall, bristol city and westham, its a police escort from ur own stadium to the visting stadium no stoping 50mph all the way, and only way to go is via offical coach from ur football club also the police have ur tickets and give them to you as u enter the stadium!!

Poor old wigan. I remeber them bring around 50 fans to us in late 90s.. didnt the jacks only bring around 500 fans for the semi final of the league cup. Piss poor support

I also felt it was an ob stitch up i dont now how you police stanford bridge but from what i seen on the streets to the police just chilling out and watching with the vidieo cam was unreal, And to let i 4,000 plus cardiff out at the same time as 35,000 odd chelsea fans what did they expect to happen?? Great day tho i must say.. a league game will be that little bit more special.

Its been some time since my last post. Great to see the special 1 back were he belongs!!! How are we all?? Right then the last time we meet well lets just say it wasnt for the faint hearted and the bridge.. Do you think it will be the same when we meet this season, home or away?? as most clubs in the prem seem to think that now we are in the big time it will the return of trouble!! Every club had idiots right, and we have a few more then most as do ur selfs. Its got bubble trip writen all over these 2 fixtures!!

I agree but we got bubbled to millwall every year since they been bk in the championship. West ham last year leeds every year, swansea since the 2000's thats y i ask. It will be mad to see how they treat us in the prem. Coz if you dnt get bubbled to west ham and we do i dont see how that works ur rep is on par with are's if not worse and a local derby
