This has been a horrid performance, but we've done it.

I guess thats all that matters , but quite simply it shouldn't have been like this.

Good shout for Hillario for those two saves. We were all over the shop for 30 secs and he had a nervous game but he pulled it out there. Good man.

 
Phew!! Another decidedly poor second half but this time we got away with it (and money in the bank courtesy of Chippy and Bonetti!)

Belletti... please never let him play at right back again, he scares the cr*p out of me!

 
The difference between Chelsea's 435 M. $ squad and our 90 M. $squad is just a fluke own goal that has been scored by Deivid.

Anyway, congratulations but we dominated the second half. And the second goal would not happen if this game was a first leg.

Hope you break your dead luck against Liverpool and progress to the final for the first time.

 
Hard to be objective after all that. I have to admit that my view ofthe entire game was clouded by nervousness - even when we were 2-0 up a Fernabace goal could have taken it to exra time and penalties .. and it was this thought that I couldn't push away.

I wasn't happy with the Kalou substitution. Kalou did well and was causing them problems. Unlike Belletti who was poor and caused us problems. Hilario chipped in with a couple of decent saves - but Maloudo on for Joe Cole???

So it's to be another semi final against the Red Scum. Stroll on.

 
Feels like quite a hollow win, for some reason I'm not that bothered about the Champions League at all, probably something to do with the fact the shine is taken off it when you see clubs like Liverpool cheating/lucking their way through it each year, oh well.

belletti didn't go to rightback though from what I saw, it was an odd formation;

sort of 3511... a bit experimental and bizarre that belletti played there IMO.

so liverpool, again. we need to win to stop bjd being sectioned more than anything.

Commiserations on your defeat. I think the right team went through but made hard work of it.

 
that was garbage. ballack, jt and riccy stood out. the rest were shocking. thats one of the worst games ive seen lampard play in years. kalou had someone elses legs on. joey did ok but seems to have lost that spark. ahley cole played pretty well, but had to compensate for playing behind kalou. someone tell drogba hes allowed to play other players in and not always lash at it. otherwise im gonna go to the bridge and smack him. belletti is an accident waiting to happen. essien did ok at right back, much better in the midfield. and hilario is probably the best 3rd choice keeper in world football. can understand people wondering when anelka was gonna come on, but he couldnt take drogba off because of his defensive headers. bring on that red sh*te.

It will kill me if we lose to them again. Have you seen Michael Douglas in 'Falling Down' ?

If im honest, im not holding my breath. Benetez against Grant for 180 mins fills me with dread.

When he went 4-5-1 tonight, i had to close my eyes. Still, we did it. Even if it was terrifying.

 
I believe we brought a new taste to CL and impressed Europe with our brave team play. It is not easy for a team to capture Chelsea in their own half nearly all the second half.

An own goal, a set piece goal and a goal that was scored by the help of the empty space we gave you to push the game forward in order to get the equalizing goal.

We are climbing these steps for the first time and still have got a lot to learn.

The joy Chelsea community felt when drawing with us has turned into nervousness until the goal from Lampard and the expressions on the faces of fans and Grant told everything.

I'm sure we'll improve next year with a transfer bomb summer signing striker.

Was a friendly clash and watched both games with excitement till the end of the last minute. We had the chance to eliminate Chelsea till the end of the last minute in the second leg. This shows that we are on the right way.

Hope you'll get the cup in the homeland of your rich president, Abramovich.

thanks for the kind words and your involvement on the forum over the last few weeks van hoojdonk. your more than welcome to stay and enjoy our final few weeks of this season. i have no doubts that you will be in the knockout round next season too. a very exciting team going forward, and solid at the back. id say i hope we play you again next season, but im not sure id want to. good luck for the rest of your season.

 
van Hooijdonk - I hope you do stick around. I thought your team showed great spirit and definitely gave us all some very very nervous times. I don't think I've felt so relieved for a long time, and that was partly because we played a very dangerous game but also because your team never gave up.

I think to have got as far as they did and to have come as close as they did, I think they will definitely be much less of an an unknown quantity next year and definitely not an "easy" draw.

Do stick around! BTW any idea how your Maths test went?

we are better than them. we play the second leg at home.

it's not unrealistic to think we can beat them.

 
That was f ucking terrible. What a sh ite season. 3 points behind the premiership leaders and a CL semi final with the second leg at home. Being a Chelsea fan is sh ite. It's no wonder our fans hardly made a sound all night. I agree with all the posts above. I'm massively pi ssed off like the rest of you.

The fact that that BBC twat decided to pick that out speaks louder than JT's action. So he didn't want to celebrate, it's only the 1/4's, we've gotton carried away before.
