This all seems a bit last minute and desperate to me. 

Might as well play Billy in the pivot until January, and allow some time for a proper appraisal of the DM market, plus recruitment of a DoF and a better team of scouts.

I still cannot believe that we have not made a move for Neves, especially as it was widely reported at the beginnign of the window how many clubs were interested in him

 
Is he better than Sangare? Genonue question I know nothing of either.

I would like to know why Uniteds Gaffa did not try to sign him when he came in to a midfield of Fred and McTom? Not like he respected his former employer with how he ripped Martinez and Antony from them. So why not Alvarez?

Reports say he is slow, and we know how often Jorgi gets panned about his pace.

You answered your own question. Why on earth would they look elsewhere when they have McTom? 😉
