What's new

Michael Olise

Olise is being pursued by Chelsea,  Barcodes, Bayern, United & City  the last 3 will of course offer him much higher wages than Clearfake will as well as CL/EL football

Chelsea are willing to sweeten the deal by offering Palace Madueke. He has a release clause so when that is activated Olise is in the driving seat

Not sure I get this tbh

his hamstring isn’t great and the last thing we need is another player missing a ton of games ? Seriously

Got the 2 young right wingers from South America to come in the next couple seasons too, if anything we need a left winger

It’s been reported by several journalists that he’s agreed personal terms so I don’t believe he doesn’t want to sign.

Whether we’re his first choice is another matter entirely.

Chelsea agree terms and then agree to pay the release clause and then blue.co[ke] get all excited about potential swap deals.  These Americans really want to get into the swap and bartering system - bloody communists!!!
Trevoh Chalobah or Noni Madueke as part of a deal. Chalobah as part of a potential part-exchange, with Armando Broja and Cesare Casadei also options. . . .apparently.

Considering they reckon that we are all 20 years behind the curve, they have fallen on their arses every time they have tried one of these types of deals, normally scuppering the whole deal in the process. That's why i never really believe the "Here we go" for us. Normally its only the first part of the saga.

Well, the american sports system is rather communist and centralised to the 'leagues' and they have draft picks and the such. The UK system is way more capitalist and the americans love that, that is why virtually all the clubs in English Premier Leagfue - EPL - are now owned by yanks - American Oligarchs. My big worry is that will love the euro super league and move us towards that -- no relegation and guaranteed income every year. But that is a few years away, they tried and they failed, but they will try again in a decade or so and everybody will have forgotten.

So far, Blue.Co[ke] have found some loop holes, like the long-term contracts, to get around FFP.  it is NOT big and it is not particularly clever.  This ownership has shown so far that their best ability is finding and exploiting financial loopholes.

While you have to respect and appreciate it on some level, it leaves me with a sense of foreboding. It's hard to shake the feeling that the whole club is being built like a house of cards these days.

bull sh*t algorithims and trading like it is some online soccer game. Swapsy.

Romano saying we will know this week if Olise wants to join as we are pushing to agree terms with the player.

Great player but right now I am at the point where if he joins, great. If he doesn't, whatever.

His signing is overkill.

Hopefully this does get resolved quickly, either way.  Although many teams will be impact by Euros, Copa America and Olympics at the start of next season, think the new manager would benefit from earlier signings and chance to work in pre-season.

Romano also said Pedro Lima was a "here we go".

Don't think Olise joins. He gets a cut of the transfer only if the clause if activated, and we don't want to activate it so we can arrange payment terms.

Kendry Páez realistic position would be attacking right side, if Lamine Yamal is already making waves for Barca and Spain at 16, I don’t see why we can’t just give him a clearer pathway (rather than him waiting for Olise’s hamstrings to give way) once he’s able to play next season.

Been offered a new deal by Palace. Feel like we have seen this movie before.

Don’t think Palace can offer him a contract as good as the clubs competing to sign him.  Unless he wants to be the next Zaha I think he’s ready to move on to the next stage of his career.  Probably end up a Liverpool though.

Aye I would imagine is another "stay for one more year" contract that gives him bigger wages and a bigger cut of a new release clause.

Probably try to sell him on another year and you will have City after you rather than Chelsea and Newcastle.

Another friendly reminder that the only reason we didn't sign Olise last year was because Palace threatened us to the tribunal for tapping up.

That's a shame, he would have been a great addition, albeit not a necessary one. Hopefully we start cracking on with signing a striker now.

Good, wonderful player but I dont think we’re in a financial position to endulge in luxurious signings in positions that dont really need strengthening

Think he would have improved us immensely. We are still in a financial position to bid silly amounts on players who have played like 5 games or nobody has never heard of.

Our recruitment plan and team is a joke.
