Scoreline was harsh on Italy... very unlucky to lose a man injured minutes after making their last sub. But no doubt Spain are a superb team and controlled the game from the start. They made Italy look like England! Lord knows who they would have made England look like. Oh and well done Nando and Mata.

Spain were imperious. They made it look so easy, just by simple closing down and actually moving into space to receive the ball.

They're still bar stewards though.

Although I'm happy for Torres and especially Mata to get on and get a goal.

Incredibly one sided game, any hope of a match went away when Italy were forced down to 10. Was kinda hoping for more of a contest, last 30 minutes were basically a practice session. Spain were clinical, Italy were wasteful when they were on the attack in the first half. Most annoying thing is it'll mean Tika Taka will continue to infest European football for at least another two years.

Happy for Torres and Mata though.

Wow, that whole game took it out of me, the last 15 minutes was just a slap in the face with Torres and Mata scoring. I'm still proud of our tournament, today was just cursed and Spain were fantastic.

And we'll be back in 2 years with James Milner.
Say what you like about James Milner Just, but I've been 'lucky' enough to watch him take apart average, below full strength sides playing with injuries & jetlag at Wembley.

The guys a ledge!.

Do we really need to have the losers get their medals at the game? Mail them that sh*t UEFA/FIFA/FA!

Just gonna say it was ridiculously cute how all the Spanish players brought their kids on the pitch after the game

And At least Spain actually played football today not the sideways machine they've been for most of the tournament

Player of the tournament Xavi or Silva for me. With Iniesta, Alba, Pirlo also deserving a mention.

Fair play to Italy. They have been the suprise package of the tournament and it's been enjoyable watching them play. Tonight they have simply come up against a team who went up another level. I dread to think what Spain in full flow would have done to England.

Now why cant Spain play like that more often, they were superb tonight and played with much more attacking purpose.

Now that's ironic. The one time I don't watch Spain play, apparently they're entertaining and play with attacking purpose.

Give it a rest, just.
Indeed.

How old is Iniesta? Is he going to have to buy another house for his medals before he retires? Outstanding player, the only Barcelona player I like - wonderful to watch.

Pleased for Torres, didn't get many minutes but scored when he did, in all honesty I'm not sure what else you can ask for.

Mata has to have the best goal to minute ratio though hehe.

Great performance by Spain, up there with the best of all time, Brazil 70 or Spain 12 ?, a toss of a coin.

Torres gifting that goal to Mata was the highlight of the tournament to me.

Gutted for Italy, they were making a good game of it for the first hour until that cruel injury to Motta. No way did they deserve to lose 4-0.

As mad as this sounds, I actually think Iniesta is underrated, the guy has everything a world class footballer should have, passing, 2 quick feet, dribbling, shooting, awareness of teamates etc..

A top top player.

This tournament on the whole has been a good advert for football. Any hints of diving and play acting has on the whole been kept to the minimum by some excellent refereeing. Just hope this can be taken in the CL next year.
