I am SO flattered mate!

Judging by the scores you are reporting above, I take it that this ISN'T a thread about that Australian Football thing where you have three goals at each end and the scores look like 49-3-18-8 and you can do just about anything at all with any part of your body (calm down Val!) to both the ball and opposing players?

No, that's AFL. With an eggball. Played in Melbourne and Perth and Darwin. And the scores are something like goals-behinds-total points. Goals are worth 3 points, behinds are worth 1. I don't follow it, but I much prefer it to the man-on-man TV sport gropefest that is rugby.

Hardly contemptous...Queensland have the testicular fortitude of my grandma, so "Meow" is very apt

Nah, my grandma is in a nursing home, has dementia, and to be perfectly honest is a vengeful bitch. Fortunately, I am the favourite grandson!

Sydney, A-League Champions 2005/06, are in Asian compeitition- The Asian Champions' League.

I am so unbelievably excited. Overseas away trips, glitter and glamour, international teams and mid-week games- I was nearly crying when it was announced and I'm sure many more Sydney FC fans and long-suffering Australian football fans would empathise.

all I know is that we will be in the draw. Away games...well, I guess I HAVE to make a few. The prospect of traveling to Japan and Korea is certainly appealing (less so Iraq

Oops Valerie I thought I updated yer on a very important piece of news must've forgotten to post it...

Anyway found out ahead of the media release that Queensland had signed 36-year old striker Damian Mori. Mori is the record goal-scorer in Australian football history with more than 250 goals at club level for many clubs in Australia. Wherever he has gone he has scored goals and he is probably one of Australia's most natural goalscorers.

Mori has the potential to do what Zola did for Chelsea. On paper he is the missing link between Meow and Roar. He is obviously not the fastest but he is very fit and very strong, he is also mobile and sets up goals as well as scores them. He is one of those strikers that can hit the net blindfolded and can shoot/score from anywhere. Most importantly he is in very good form (scored like 6 goals in 5 games for Central Coast) and is playing with a rocket up his arse to prove to everyone he is not "past it".

Now the critical news is that Frank Farina rushed his clearance papers in so that Mori is eligible to play against Sydney

:( he scored twice against us for Central Coast and scored for Perth last season against us.

Needless to say I am worried!
