I'm thinking John Terry to Nottingham Forest, the likes in the past David Beckham to Preston.

One loan deal, playing week in week out, then part of the first team squad on return.

There seems to be a pattern developing throughout football which in my mind is affecting younger players coming through.

Maybe it's ironic that Chelsea and Manchester City contested the FA Youth Cup Final last year, but sending players out to one team, another and another, sometimes with them not even playing for the teams they are loaned to ???

It must give a negative effect to youngsters being shunted to club to club, thinking one day Chelsea will tell me my time is up, much like when they were kids waiting the dreaded call to the like's of Neil Bath's office to be told they would be released.

John Terry's interview on Chelsea Tv saying Luca Vialli told him that he saw him as a future first team player and the Forest move would be his only loan deal so when he came back the likes of Desailly would be under pressure for a starting place.

Something tells me we were going the wrong way about things.

Now things are happening behind the scenes, injuries, and as the money situation remains in doubt, we get Di Santo, Stoich,Kakuta and Mancienne in the first team squad.

Not saying Stoich and Kakuta will learn much from Malauda, but surely in and around the first team squad and the odd game for the reserves will benefit them more from countless loans as Sahar and Sinclair, who in my opinion will never be Chelsea players now.

You've only got to look at Carlton Cole, a fantastic loan at Charlton, nightmare at Villa, shunted about and only finding form now Zola has given him a run and belief that he is good enough.

Frank Nouble ? Well a bit clumsy for my liking, but who knows, think he will end up at West Ham with Carlton
