The Promising Nathaniel Chalobah

Featured Replies

Firstly i want to apologize if there is already a thread on this guy.

Mourinho just said;

'He's a very, very good player and i like him very, very much. I am very impressed. For sure he is a Chelsea player (but) he has to play every weekend for the last year of his loan period. We think he is there. He could be in our squad already, but we think one more season and his last season on loan because he is very good''

I generally rate this guy as a centre back or a defensive midfielder, any player Mourinho emphasizes his ability with 5 very's i think it was is definitely a future player for us.

I agree he needs this final season on loan, it has to be to a Premier league team though. It'll be interesting whether that team plays him as a DM or CB too.

I am so excited with Chelsea's young potential, Chalobah, KDB, Hazard, Kalas, Courtois, Lukaku, Oscar, just to name a few are all 22 or younger.

Chalobah is under 21 Englang captain last time i recall and he'll be with us next year not this like Jose says.

I trust anything Jose does, great years ahead.

Think these posts would be best merged with the existing Chalobah thread because a number of people will be following his progress at Watford. :)

Agree with Jose's assessment, I think his talent is there for all to see BUT the caveat of being English is that even an above-average run of form in the Chelsea first-team will create a massive media-fueled storm around him, with calls for his capping, knighthood and then sacking as he inevitably has an average match. We've seen the same thing happen to Wilshere and pretty much every English from Aston Villa, Everton or Middlesbrough.

I think that despite us needing a player of his characteristics and ability in the first-team squad right now, he can develop much more as player and a leader away from the Premier League spotlight and inevitable soap opera that is Chelsea.
