Posted October 4, 200717 yr I do not know if anyone would agree with me, but i would not fault an injured JT for the first goal as it looks very unnatural and uncomforting to wear that brace. But our captain was magnificent all night, defending in the right place and giving instruction. He ordered a team gathering at the end to solidify camaderie among the players and that is good. Apart from that, i have mentioned that Carvalho/JT is the best combination and it showed, despite the baby bump on Carvalho's forehead. He was in the thick of action, even defying a shot with a defensive diving header in the direction of Cech's goal. Even at 0-1, i thought the team settled well and Valencia was there for the picking as they played poorly. For me, MOM was either Joey or Drogs. Their presence really unsettled the opponent's defence. And did you notice that Sheva did not play ? Good... keep him on the bench and let's start winning It is still too early to see if we have turn things around but the season is still very long. If we can get a string of 8-10 victories at one go, that is a massive 24-30 points and we may still challenge for the Premiership. This game hasn't changed my doubt over Grant's credential. I think the players played and expressed themselves in their eagerness to win. I have to agree that Kalou should have put us 3-1 ahead, although he had hardly grown into the game having been introduced late. He has to learn to put away those half-chances consistently. If so, he will be very useful in our future endeavours. Good work.. Reebok stadium is the best time to make our first win since Bolton is going through a lean spell. Let's hope we can celebrate a second successive away win in a week.
