  1. It's amazing what you are willing to do for your son/daughter if required! I'm amazed with the support I've received this season....£70,000 is a huge amount of money which will go a long way to funding the research....but I would love to hit the £100k target :)
  2. Thank you :) Appreciate your donation....like I said above I need all the help I can get to try and reach the target. You are right though, it certainly puts football into perspective!
  3. As a Leicester City supporter, I hope you all don't mind me joining your forum, but there is good reason! My son suffers from a rare chromosome disorder called MECP2 Duplication Syndrome, which affects many aspects of his development. Recently a breakthrough has been made in research and a cure is now a possibility! Due to how rare his condition is, there is no funding available from the government, so we are having to raise the money ourselves. As his Daddy, I'm not prepared to sit and do nothing to fight for my little boys future! This season I have cycled to every Leicester City away fixture, promoting a text code and number. Anyone can donate to the cause by simply texting MECP77 followed by £1, £2, £3, £5 or £10 to 70070. At the start of the season I set myself the target of raising £100,000 towards the research....so far after cycling over 3000 miles to 21 different grounds, through heavy winds, snow, rain and freezing conditions, the total currently stands at over £70,000! With just two games to go I need all the help I can get and considering we will be in the Premier League next season, I thought I would come onto a few Premier League forums to promote the campaign! More information on the challenge and my sons condition can be found at http://www.textellis.com or you can visit my JustGiving page http://www.justgiving.com/textellis. I really hope that some of you would like to donate to the campaign, even if it is just £1 EVERY little helps! You can follow our progress on Twitter @textellis or "Like" us on Facebook www.facebook.com/textellis We may support different teams, but sometimes things are that little bit more important in life! Richard

Before the season started, I had never ridden more than a few miles since I was a child and only had 5 weeks to train before the first ride. I have now completed all 13 away games so far this season, racking up nearly 2000 miles with visits to Middlesbrough, Derby, Charlton, Blackpool, Yeovil, Doncaster, Watford, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday, Brighton, QPR, Millwall and Leeds. You can also follow my progress on Twitter @textellis or "Like" us on Facebook www.facebook.com/textellis Although my campaign involves cycling to all of the Sky Bet Championship clubs, I see no reason to not promote the campaign to all football supporters throughout the country....after all I need all of the support I can get! We may support different teams, but sometimes things are that little bit more important in life and I hope the football community can continue to join together and make the text"ellis" campaign a real success!
