Mourinino to the theatre of failure
We seem to have developed into a rather nice casual, general thread. I have to go soon. I live in SW France and my woman has spoken of a trip to Le Festival (a local bar). Thankfully they have Belgian as well as the ghastly French beer (How CAN it be so bad?). So just a quick question before I go, please. How about the second leg with A.Madrid.? Will it be an all out assault, or care to avoid an away goal?

Whoever goes there will have a fundamental decision to take (Moyes never did). Will it be his way, or the Man.U. way with the spectres of AF and Bobby charlton as football men overseeing it all? I suspect that Moyes' failure to take that decision and then defend it was a part of his route to failure. So, yes, an alleged 200 GBP (Sorry, no pound sign on my keyboard), yes. But how should it be spent? A war yet to be fought.

Got to agree. He looked as thogh he was hiding behind it. He did the same later at Ipswich and I thought "Here we go again". That whoe Ipswich thing was bizarre; he set about building a mini-Sunderland a level down, and for a while it worked, but all it did in the end was demonstrate that all he had done for us was buy Championship-only players. But he has a way with him (A Cork man !!). At present the heat is off and he has his charm back.

Agreed. It seems to be the way, in recent years and I really dislike it. when roy was appointed I was horrified because of his reputation. However, he did a really good job and I learned to admire his approach, until the final season (and he was awful then, and a little unbalanced), but there was little excuse for the vilification from too many posters.

Yes, I saw that (eventually) - you may have seen. I am one of the campaigners on SMB for civilised discussion. To be fair, temperatures and frustration are both high on there at present. Contributors think of the huge money spent, the massive support etc and then at the bunch of clowns masquerading as footballers at the SOL. tempers are frayed just now as you can imagine. But to be fair that is not typical. We were all, for example astounded by our results at the Etihad and SB, And some shouters have emerged from the woodwork. I will be glad when they go back to school !!!

The view of a lot of people is/was that Man. U. need a complete rebuild and that is why AF hung up his mouth. However they this win the league last year so maybe a period og general improvement was also an opportunity. Certainly Moyes made a complete mess of whichever of those processes he was fumbling about with. So for a new manager both options are still there - with perhaps disposals of eberton acquisitions. But why on earth would JM (or any other competent manager) step into that mess? It just makes no sense. There is the possibility of another enjoyable season for us all next year.

Sounds right. Though I suppose the subject of money might come up. Personally I think he would be barmy. Especially with AF looking over his shoulder all the time.- Mourinino to the theatre of failure
This site has 6 members and 6 guests on this site at present. The SMB has 1195 members just now, and 785 guests on site. It's a very popular forum with lots of returning guests with lots of good threads, and always has been. Why not take a look?- Mourinino to the theatre of failure
Spot on. I reckon that this press suggestion was inevitable, but it speaks volumes for the nauseating quality of the so called journalists who write/wrote it. Too idle to get off their substantial backsides and check to see what the real story is. Why would a Chelsea manager in a (comparatively) stable position, at the start of a development project head for the Theatre of failure where the requirement is for SUCCESS today, right now at any cost, when he can continue to develop your squad in a sensible fashion?- Mourinino to the theatre of failure
You really do have to love it. Although TBF, he probably represents the views of a significant proportion of man. U fans. But you would know that better than me because lots of them will be your neighbours .- Mourinino to the theatre of failure
You cannot fault him for the dream-like quality of his life. Most of the tension in that area will come from the weight he places on his chair.- Mourinino to the theatre of failure
Cheeky It's a pretty good one. We like to regard ourselves as the acceptable face of the North East. As opposed to our pantomime neighbours a mile or two north. The ALS/SMB seems to win lots of awards for its quality, and is usually a pretty good read. Apart from the occasion pie munching, gravy stained barcodes that slither onto it from time to time.- Mourinino to the theatre of failure
ok. 1. I am new to this board and had a look around to see if there was already a thread to post in. I didn't find one, because I do not know the geography of this board yet. Where are they? Rumours seemed a sensible area to post. That has to be what this is. And it's not sh*t, it what is in some of the papers, so the RUMOUR exists, and is a reasonable point of discussion. 2. I don't believe this "guff". I was looking for a Chelsea perspective. So no shame. A genuine look around the board failed to find the topic. So I started this. Perfectly reasonable. I will learn the geography in time. By the way, you guys were great in Spain. - Mourinino to the theatre of failure
