  1. Well with the wing back situation the saga with Alex Sandro comes to mind. But hopefully they've got the message that Juve aren't selling! I personally would like to see us try for Bertrand and Van Dijk but likeliness is slim. Ox with his versatility would be good but I feel our defence and creative play in the midfield has been our weakest part through preseason and opening matches
  2. Love how's this has gone from a nice debate about the current transfer market and who we feel would improve the Chelsea team either by depth or quality to a slagging match. I'm only here for the Chelsea! As will I be Sunday against Everton. Here's hoping that we play well and win, as well as get the reinforcements we need.
  3. Just think the transfer window this year is joke. It's a joke how a players price can go up by millions just because they're English, or there is a league price then a premier league price i.e. Belotti £91 if English club wanted him, £40 million if an Italian club wanted them. I get it's to keep the talent in the league it's just ridiculous. And just cause a club activates a players release clause doesn't mean the club has to accept it.
  4. Cause I'm fed up of seeing the club shelling out millions on the like of Rahman, Cuadrado, Salah, Ba, Torres, Zhirkov, Veron, Mutu, Djiobodji, Hector, Benayoun, Marin, Atsu, Luis, Boulahrouz, Falcao and Wright-Phillips when other clubs like Ac Milan and Juve sign players like Rodriguez and Matuidi for £18 million and Chelsea are set shelling out £40 mil for Drinkwater. Irl he is worth £15 it's just the market this year is a joke! Promote 3 English youth players then if we gonna spend £40 on a back up player might as well spend it on a real talent. Kante cost £32 do you really think Drinkwater is worth more ?
  5. Don't get me wrong I would love to see Musonda play because he is a great youth player, and would also love for Chelsea to be able to get a decent back up player for DM, I wouldn't honestly want Luiz in the midfield either but like against Spurs I'm saying if he had to he could. I would actually like to see us add players to our defence as apart from Alonso, Luiz and Dave I don't feel the rest are at the same level. But would rather they spend £25 mil on a average player for back up than waste £40 mil on a back up. Buy another LWB and push Alonso in the centre if needed. When we had players like Baker, LRC and Chalobah as options there just seems wrong buying a 28 year old for £40 for back up. Barkley was just a personal preference as I feel he will get better.
  6. So what if Drinkwater is a PL winner! Man United won a PL and CL with Anderson in their midfield and he was terrible! Like I said Drinkwater is a good player for Leicester but I would of rather see Luiz get pushed into the midfield like Benitez did to him and us get another defender than have Drinkwater. But if it's literally just in the case of cover Dave would be better there like Lahm for Munich. I personally think Barkley and Ox would be good buys both 23 and obviously talented just need work. And both would be cheaper than £40 mil drinkwater and longer term. Or buy or promote 3 English youth players for the English quota and buy an actual decent midfielder like N'Zonzi. DM and a tank
  7. But when we already have Kante and Bakayoko in that DM role and no attacking midfielders why would you want Barkley as a DM he has shown he can play as a CAM or a Winger. More like Lampard in his early days with the pace to move upfront and get in the box. (Just not the winger bit) Plus we've played Fabregas next to Kante plenty of times and that's just shown our weakness, keep Bakayoko and Kante fit and strengthen our creative play more. Barkley is 23 you've got years to mild him, Drinkwater is 27-28 would it really be worth it ?
  8. It's not so much Drinkwater bashing as yeah he's a half decent player .... for Leicester, but why we paying £30-40 mil for a bench warmer. Might as well pay less for Barkley who's younger and injured who won't be demanding playing time as he will be recovering. Adds to English quota and depth ... just injured lol
  9. I know we should show faith as the board has managed some good deals in the past years like Luiz, Hazard, Courtios, Willian, Costa, Fabregas, Pedro and so on... what you sit and think good business especially when they sold Luiz for £50mil and Mikel and Ramires and Oscar for a combined 90 mil. But you also got to think about the amount of bad business they did! Baba Rahman, Flipe Luis, Dji (what's his name), Hector, Atsu, Cuadrado, Salah, Remy, Ba and Torres (even though I love him and still a big fan of his) was terrible business. Roman should really start reviewing his board and maybe let the manager push for their own targets more. Im still hoping for some deadline masterclass but let's be honest now, if they've even considered buying Danny Drinkwater it's obvious the board is a little out of touch this window.
  10. Anyone else getting nervy that there's just over a week left and we still aren't signing anyone. We are linked with everyone and his mate, but that's just the usual rubbish. We don't actually appear to be going after actual players and we need payers like (home grown) to fall in line with the Champions League rules ...
  11. I saw that too but Wenger doesn't want to sell Ox, no one wants us to pay £40 for bloody Drinkwater and Southampton said they aren't selling. But honestly all but Drinkwater I would be ok with those purchases but it's 11 days left.... look how long it took us to buy Bakayoko I don't see 5 signings in 11 days
  12. I forgot Ake to Bournemouth as well as Begovic and Chalobah to Watford. (Not as big of names but still quality players)
  13. I don't think there is anything wrong with the players we have bought so far, I don't agree with loaning the likes of Zouma and Baker out but I can get behind it for first team football. But what I can't get behind is selling players to premier league teams when they won't sell to us. Mata to united, Cech to Arsenal, Lukaku to Everton, Sturridge to Liverpool, Bertrand to Southampton and now Matic to United. We've sold a lot to others but when we go knocking for players like Stones, Lukaku, Bertrand, Rooney, Oxlade-Chamberlane and Van Dijk we get told straight up there's no chance they're selling to a rival ..... now tell me is that good business ??
  14. It's nice to see that we aren't just spending money on players that are just mid table quality, but at the same time we've won a lot with those types of players. Bertrand was in the champions league final as well as Mikel, Kalou and so many others we would class as average. But we are not likely to get
  15. The reality of the situation is the transfer window is a joke! (Price of players) so Chelsea pulling another 3-4 players actual quality players without spending millions isn't gonna happen. Especially leaving it this late when everyone knows we are desperate we are gonna get hit with joke prices. We aren't signing Sandro so stop trying! start weighing up options and look properly. We need home grown, I would like the Ox but need more. If Arsenal don't sell then STOP! SELLING TO RIVALS! Why do it when they don't sell to us. Raid Southampton if you have to and bring Bertrand back. Bring Zouma back would rather him then Cahill. But we all know what will happen... 3 players no one knows will come in, we will lose a couple more games, then Conté will get sacked because the board the blame him instead of showing faith and giving him the support and respect he has earned! And fire whoever sells players without putting buy back clauses into the transfers! We could of got Lukaku back for £40 mil easy if we did and De Bruyne. Don't panic just support the blue way of life. Come on Chelsea!
