So now QPR and Man City have acquired their own sugar daddies, and Newcastle rumoured to be joining them, with an Indian billionaire twice as rich as Roman now showing interest, perhaps the media will climb off our backs and stop blaming Chelsea for everything from the rising price of a loaf of bread (£1.25 in my local shop...scandalous!) to the increase in knife crime.
My only concern is that Peter Kenyon is probably only slightly more media-friendly than Gary Glitter at this point in time (a remarkable achievement for an alleged PR colossus) and we need to assign him a desk job in Siberia asap.
Maybe we should really flog our souls and bring in the furry Max Clifford, "PR man to the stars". Then the players can all go round hugging kids in hospices to their waxed chests and pontificating on world peace.
My own hope is that we quietly go about our business and bring through Academy players, like Kakuta and Tajera, rather than waste time spreading our legs for galacticos. This should get the media boys on our side and make us a club to be admired again, rather than despised.
Well, I can dream!
