Hi Guys,
If we all accept that Scolari simply was not up to the job of managing a premier league club of any sorts let alone ours, how did he get appointed in the first place. How can so much money be spent without checking out what/who you are buying. For all I know Gus might be a hopeless coach (hopefully not) who has been saved from disgrace by great backgound staff (I doubt it but hey who really knows).
In the case of scolari it beggars belief that a complete dossier was not produced on him beforehand. Surely the only way that would happen is if RA decided he wanted Scolari over everyones head from the outset, and decided not to have him checked out!
Otherwise can you imagine the questions you'd be asked if you'd gone to RA and told him this is the man for your club 'sir', this is the man to take Chelsea forward and he'll only cost you.......?
How on earth is our club being run, if a man who it appears was totally out of his depth can be appointed in the first place. I accept that we as fans can judge a manager and have our opinions, sometimes right and sometimes wrong, but we are not spending the money and have little opportunity to do any in depth research. We simply see a manager who has managed Brazil/Portugal etc and naturally think, ok he must be at least pretty damn good, but again we are not running the business which is 'Chelsea fc'.
Hopefully lessons have been learnt, we now have Gus (who hopefully at the very least ensures 4th place) till the end of the season, whilst this time, thorough research is done on all the candidates, for the full time job. Then and only then we will have a list of real quality candidates in descending order and start at the top trying to get them.
