FC Copenhagen v Chelsea (CL) 22/2/11 KO 19:45 GMT
That's true. Actually, we've won all CL games at home except for a 1-1 draw with Barcelona and 0-0 against Benfica. But we've only played 6 games in Parken prior to this one. We beat Manure 1-0 though.

Certainly the best team won tonight, and congrats on that. I was disappointed to see several of Copenhagen's best player underperforming tonight. What you saw tonight certainly wasn't Copenhagen's best, but I think the long period without competitive matches simply made it too difficult for us. On a lighter note; the Chelsea fans were singing a song at one point during the 2nd half, which used the same melody as "Sing when you're winning", but I couldn't make out the words. Can anyone enlighten me on what exactly the lyrics were? Unsurprisingly the Copenhagen fans responded by singing "You only sing when you're winning". I'm looking forward to going to London in March, and although our chances of progressing at this point are slim to none, I hope we'll at least play our best.

I agree, over 180 minutes you are huge favorites (which I also acknowledged in my previous post). What I was arguing against was mostly the high number of posts in this forum saying e.g. "Easy win 3-0" or similar. With regards to underestimation. I think that's a curious thing, underestimation that is. I wouldn't say that Chelsea underestimate us in a mannor as "Terry think N'doye is sh1te". But Copenhagen certainly has more respect for Chelsea than vice versa. And that's they way it should be. Copenhagen are the underdogs, and Copenhagen have everything to gain and no pressure. The pressure is all on Chelsea. At the same time our coaches have had ample opportunity to study every detail of Chelsea's game, while Copenhagen haven't played a single competitive match since the draw was made. Ceteris paribus that must mean that Copenhagen have had better opportunity to be prepared of Chelsea's way to play, than Chelsea have had to prepare of Copenhagen's. So you can call it underestimation or you can call it something else if you prefer, but I do believe that will play a factor in tonight's match - with a slight advantage for Copenhagen. What will certainly also be a factor is the lack of competitive matches on Copenhagen's part, and I think that will be an advantage to Chelsea. During the first 15 minutes, I expect Copenhagen will need to adjust to the high tempo, and during the last 15 minutes of the game Copenhagen might be tired. I noticed William Kvist (Copenhagen's skipper), got cramps during the dying minutes of Denmark's match against England a few weeks ago, and he is usually the one who is able to run the most during a game. That indicates to me that the lack of competitive matches might be a big factor. Oh and our CL match record is not quite as impressive: P12 W5 D2 L5

I'm sure he doesn't fear Chelsea, but Ståle certainly has a lot of respect for Chelsea. Before the draw in December, he said that Chelsea would be perhaps the worst draw possible. He has said several times after the draw that he would have prefered Real Madrid to Chelsea, because he believes Chelsea has superior organisation and physical stamina. At the same time, I am 100% sure that Ståle knows it is possible for Copenhagen to beat Chelsea at home. Over two games, however, Chelsea are about 90-10 favorites in my mind. But those of you who believe Chelsea will easily win in Copenhagen are in for a big surprise. You can expect to see a Copenhagen team that will have a high share of the ball possesion, that will be playing very attacking football, and will be utilizing their attacking backs whenever they are in ball possesion. In addition to that, you will see one of the most enthusiastic crowds you'll find anywhere in Europe. Expect to hear massive whistling when Chelsea is in possesion, and roaring cheers when Copenhagen is in possession. I'm pleased to hear that 1900 Chelsea fans are joining us in Copenhagen - but they will surely be dominated by the much larger crowd of loud Copenhagen fans. Also, I'm curious to see how the Chelsea players will adapt to the Copenhagen weather. It's currently snowing and we expect somewhere between -5 and -10 degrees at kick off tonight. I hope we will see a good game tonight with two good teams. But tbh I feel confident that Copenhagen will win tonight - it probably will not be a big enough victory to progress though.

Thanks! In general, I think Copenhagen fans are optimistic about our chances, although everyone realise that Chelsea are huge favorites to progress. Keep in mind that Copenhagen hasn't played any games in the Danish league since the beginning of December, and several of the players have complained that the opponents in the friendly matches haven't been good enough. So I'm sure most of the players will need to adjust to playing at a higher speed again, during the first half against Chelsea. Although most of the starting line up played for their national teams in February (Wiland, Antonsson and Wendt for Sweden, Pospech for Czech Rep, Kvist and Vingaard for Denmark, Bolanos for Costa Rica and N'doye for Senegal). However, against Barcelona Copenhagen prooved that they are able to match any opponent. Everyone realises that Chelsea haven't been playing their best during the past few months, but regardless of that our defensive players simply aren't used to playing against the likes of Drogba, Torres, Anelka or Malouda, and if either of them play up to their best, it will be difficult for Copenhagen to keep up. The Danish media has been focusing a lot on Ashley Cole as well - praising him for his attacking skills, but suggesting that his attacking style of play will leave room for our right wingers. In particular Bolanos (RM) and Pospech (RB) are expected to try to utilize the room Cole leaves open. Also, the Copenhagen forwards will most likely keep close to Essien when Chelsea are in possesion of the ball.

Hey Everybody I hope you don't mind me joining the discussion, even though I am a Copenhagen-fan, but I thought you might appreciate a few insights on Copenhagen's team and current form. First off, the fact that we won 5-0 against Rosenborg isn't much of an accomplishment. Rosenborg used to be strong team, but they have lost a lot of their best players, and yesterday they were very far from their best. Also they have more than a month until their season starts, so Copenhagen is much further in the pre-season training than they are. Copenhagen's attack was strong yesterday, but defense-wise Copenhagen had very little to do. Looking at how Copenhagen will play against Chelsea, there are really only two options. It will either be: Wiland Pospech - Antonson - Zanka - Wendt Bolanos - Kvist - Claudemir - Grønkjær N'doye - Santin or Wiland Pospech - Antonson - Zanka - Wendt Bolanos - Kvist - Claudemir - Vingaard N'doye - Grønkjær Against Rosenborg Copenhagen played in the prior formation, which is also most likely to be the one they will use against Chelsea. In either case, you can expect to see an attacking team. Also, how many Chelsea fans will be going to Copenhagen? I know that we will be bringing 3000 spectators to Stamford Bridge in March.
