Great thread lads.
.
Im 40 and went to school in Harrow .
Growing up in the 80s there wasn't a lot of Chelsea where I was in the northern part, it was mostly Spurs and Liverpool.
A lot of kids families tried to get their kids to go to Watford as there was no violence, but that was social suicide at a time when all that mattered as a kid was to be either hard or good at football
South Harrow and Hatch End was alot of Chelsea.
Wealdstone was Spurs, Chelsea, QPR,
Northolt and South Ruislip was 50/50 QPR and Chelsea though the main pub the Eastcote Arms was famously Chelsea.
As mentioned South Oxhey was west ham and Chelsea and Hemel was the same.
Some London areas will always be the same- Islington Arsenal, Edmonton Spurs but Harrow is one of those areas that has seen its support change hands.
I moved away and came back late 90s ish and the area had become Arsenal, remember popping into the Apollo in West Harrow and it was all Arsenal.
Back when I was a kid the FA cup was the be all and end all and Spurs did well in them and what with Hoddle they were very popular.
Arsenal playing some games at Wembley in the CL got them a lot of support later on.
Now a lot of kids are into Chelsea.
Thing is I don't think theres that many people who go to matches from the area these days, but who does?
Places change as do people, I see lads down the pub ,London Irish who used to cheer for Ireland cheering on England now.
