no not really, they pretty much stay in the background and let Fergie run the club how he sees fit.

As a Manchester United fan I was in disbelief when Roman sacked Jose, I feel Chelsea would of dominated English Football, and would probably have more than one European Cup to your name by now if you kept him, its as if Roman expects to win every trophy every season, that is never going to happen, and to sack your manager if you don't win everything is just madness. I can't see Jose going back to the bridge, the more likely scenario is him taking over at Old Trafford after Ferguson retires.

Thing is when you are owned by someone like Roman Abramovich is your club becomes his toy, he doesn't seem to care what any Chelsea fan thinks or wants, he will do what he wants, whenever he wants.
