I have followed this club now for going on 10 years, as long as I have known about Chelsea and really European Football. While I haven't ever been to London to see a game, I follow from a long way away and love this club and the players and even the fans and what I read on here. Never posted on here before as I probably don't have a lot to add to the conversation but I just could not resist dropping a note about how special what I saw Thursday night was for me.
I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, and live and work here now. My wife works for a non-profit that's mission is to feed and diaper babies and when the tornadoes hit this week I dropped work and went to help any way I could. It was a terrible tragedy that hit the OKC suburb of Moore on Monday, and one we are pretty familar with around these parts. I can't tell you though how special it was for me to see the boys (and city) holding up a banner in support of my little city in the middle of the US. When I heard that the club was donating money off the tickets, and then matching that donation, to give to the recovery here...well it was just really cool.
Small world, crazy to me to think that my heroes in Blue even know where my hometown is or have ever heard of it. Really a special day for me and something I will never forget. Thank you to the Club, can't tell you how much the folks down here need it. Didn't know where else to express my gratitude, but I just wanted to share how cool this was to see for me and say thanks to this Club.
