I have been tracking Mauro Zarate's progress in Lazio this season and his performance has given me reasons for optimism. On-loan at Birmingham last season, the player belongs to Qatar club Al-Sadd and has done very well on loan at Lazio to aid the club to a place in the final of Coppa Italia against Sampdoria. He has 12 strikes in 28 Serie A appearances and is only 22.

I watched some of his goals on the internet including a superbly struck free kick. Liverpool and Man City are reportedly tracking the player and I think this fast and relatively small sized forward wil bring a different dimension at Chelsea.

From what little serie A I have seen in the past couple of years, he is certainly someone that looks promising. I certainly think a productive #10 is what we need. However, I doubt we will look at him, but look to spend one someon a little more developed in the summer
