In Cyprus for a wedding tues 29th and got 2 tickets for the game on the wed. Staying in Ayia Napa anyone else making this journey. How you getting from napa to nicosia (I can only see 1 bus and thats 0800 :o )

Where is everyone drinking/meeting pre match.

Flying out on Saturday and staying in Ayia Napa for a week.

No idea how to get from Ayia Napa to Nicosea, but we are there early enough to research this problem. I believe it's around 1 - 1.5 hours by car. It will most likely have to be a taxi unless there are buses laid on which is a possibility.

I've no idea where to drink in Nicosea either, but we'll try to get there in time for a pre-match "warm-up" for sure.

Not much help really am i...? :D

as much use as doug rougvie when your team goes 4-3 up against all the odds, you need to do more research.

We arrive Sunday but my mate is already there , he phoned today to say that there are flyers around Ayia napa advertising a bus to the game for 20 euro return which is a bargain. I have been told there is an irish bar in Nicosia called Finnbars which usually gets taken over by Brits

Sounds promising. Many thanks for the info. I'll definitely look into both of those!

thanks for the info see u all in finnbars for a good sing song and lots of lager :D

Yeah we'll head for Finnbars then. Not sure about "see you all" though....

There doesn't seem to be a huge number from this forum going.

Cyprus in September? hot, sunny 30 degrees? Plus Chelsea in the CL there? No, it's not too appealing I s'pose...

Good day/night out (shame about the game) thanks to everyone who made it memorable. Never thought that I would be so popular with the locals , so many wanted a photo of my flag !

Not all were friendly though , I nearly caught one of the bottles at the end. Shame about the crocodile as well.

Were you on the bus from Ayia Napa? Me and 2 mates travelled on it. Was great fun except for the hold-up getting back afterwards. Yeah there were a few bottles being thrown and one narrowly missed me too, but fortunately they were all plastic.

Fortunately the Cypriots ignored the UEFA regulations about selling alcohol on CL nights. Cans of Heineken were better than nothing!

On the coach from Napa , I was with my dad I had the Chelsea flag near the back (not the giant one across the rear window) Heineken was ice cold but 2.50 for a small can !!

Ah, so were you about 3 rows from the back on the left side of the coach? I remember a flag there.

I was on the back seat and helped put the big flag up, though it wasn't mine.

Like us you obviously thought better of going into Nicosia earlier in the day. I'd have liked to see the place but it was so hot that staying by the pool until mid-afternoon and then having a few leisurely beers in an Ayia Napa seemed like a much better idea.

Well we are going for sure. Flights and hotel already sorted, so just need match tickets now.

Apparently we have an allocation of 3000 so hopefully we should be ok.
