Fans banned

I receive the Football Supporters' Federation newsletter. In it this week is an article about Sunderland's banning fans from matches before any investigation has been carried out. I don't know how to do links, so have tried to copy the whole thing in here.

A group of Sunderland supporters have launched a petition against their club’s decision to ban them from the Stadium of Light. Some of the group have been arrested, but not charged, for their involvement in an incident between fans and police in August.

These supporters have continually maintained that they are innocent of any crime and were shocked and outraged to receive notice that they have been banned from attending Sunderland games last week, nearly three months after the event.

Unfortunately, the FSF has noticed more and more clubs banning supporters first and asking questions later and we urge all football fans to stand together against this decision. Why are fans treated differently to the rest of society? Why are we guilty until proven innocent?
