sleepy_gonzalez
this smacks of a press release from his agent: 'his contract is expiring soon' 'tipped to be the future star in world football.' really? because we're looking at aguero right now and he's not being praised so highly. We're also looking at Lukaku, and he looks good too. So why haven't we heard of this guy? Especially as he's at Barca too, isn't that odd? No, he's THE future star in world football. Okay then... Let's look at the certainties expressed in the article: With Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti looking to add young legs to his aging squad (any proof of this? apart from the fact that you normally spell 'aging' [sic] like this: 'ageing' - we have a hell of a lot of 'young legs' to draft in next season, and no offence intended to the young 'un but we already have enough world class (in their age group) 16 year olds to make him surplus to requirements) Assulin may be able to add some youth adrenalin to Stamford Bridge. Hmmmm. So he's quite good for a sixteen year old. We have some of those. So he's a seriously good prospect for a sixteen year old. Yeah we have some of those too. 'Arsenal are also reportedly linked with the player earlier in the season'. Yes, that's what happens to 16 year olds. Arsenal buy them for a million and then they turn out to be a bit dodgy, move clubs, drive drunk and crash, and get arrested and end up playing with parole tags on their shin pads.. At least that's what they put on their CV, they leave out the bit about playing for the Dippers. Good move mr Agent, you just made your boy look like a cross between Ali Dia and Jermaine Pennant
Captain Haribo
Guy Assulin is hardly unheard of, speedy gonzalez. For all the players Barca blood into their first team, there are plenty of talented players who don't get the same first team opportunities for whatever reason. That said, he's 19 now and he's been the "next big thing" for about three years now, so he probably should have played a bit more for them. Wouldn't mind if we got him on a free especially now with Stoch gone, Barca's academy is very strong so there is a high probability that some good players may slip through, at best could turn out to be a fabregas situation. dkw
Sounds to me like a players agent trying to get the best contract he can from Barcelona.
