Diarra gets call-up for France

Arsenal ace Diaby and Chelsea star Diarra are not regulars for their clubs in England but have nevertheless been called up by their country for the first time.

Juventus frontman David Trezeguet is dropped while there is no place for injured stars Thierry Henry (stomach and groin), Franck Ribery (foot), Louis Saha (leg) and captain Patrick Vieira (thigh). However, Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka has been selected alongside former Liverpool man Djibril Cisse.

He added: "We have injuries so it isn't an easy time for us. Both matches are important for us."

France squad to play Lithuania in Euro 2008 qualifier on March 24 and Austria in international friendly on March 28:
