horrific tackle (and not a straight red?)

check out the tackle in the first 10 seconds of this clip, from yesterday's Gold Cup semifinal between Canada and the US. Fulham's Carlos Bocanegra absolutely clatters Deportivo's Julian De Guzman (who has really played well in this tournament...a joy to watch). it is insane that Boca was not shown straight red.

(also, for a bit of fun, watch the 2:30 mark -- or 6:40 if the clock is counting down, not up -- when Spurs Canadian defender Paul Stalteri gets toasted by PSV's DeMarcus Beasley, leading to a PK and a Landon Donovan goal)

Shocking, but not as bad as one he did on Mark Delaney of Villa and Wales a couple of years ago. Delaney was out for months and never really recovered.

He's up there with Thatcher, Brown and Neill as one of the dirtiest players in recent years.

Single foot, studs up, no real attempt to play the ball.

Wisey isn't coaching in the states, is he? icon_wink.gif
