abramovich
?I want to get better results and to be more entertaining. Last season we played very well as a team with the resources available, but not with the same flair and the same speed and dynamic [as] in previous years. This season, with the players we have available, we have to go for it. It?s good for the club that we play different.? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 127673.ece Hallelujah! callista
That's a great article, mellow Jose! I really hope he means it, not just the more attacking football but that he lets the arguments and accusations pass him by and he doesn't feed the monster. It's great copy for the press who actively encourage it of course but it damages the club at times and sadly makes Jose out to be someone who you would want to cross the road to avoid - a man who could start a punch up in a cemetery if you will. In his calmer moments he seems charming and I hope he's realised that with the career he has and will have that raising the roof about every perceived slight is not going to make his life any easier. Just let it all wash over you Jose and let your team's football do the talking. I have to admit I share the author's doubts about whether Jose can keep this promise (about keeping calm not about his football). On that point, I don't think it will develop immediately, it's not as if we are going to put 5 goals past Birmingham or something at the start of the season. The Moos
I feel that if we succeed in playing with more flair then we will perhaps we one of the most versatile teams in europe. We can play beautiful football but if necessary we can close down and play a more controlled football. Can we master 4-3-3, 4-4-2 (straight) and 4-4-2 (diamond) then it will be amazing. Other teams such as Barcelona basicaly only knows one way to play. Either a team plays full attack, full defence or something in between. Very few (if any) can play different kinds of football with good results. Let's face it, we might not always be able to play an offensive and attractive football. If you do that against some teams you might have to pay a very high price. Then it will be good to be able to switch to a more controlled and "boring" style. Ah, it's the 21232 dodecahedron I'm looking forward to us playing in the Champion's League. Let's see if anyone knows how to work out this formation: Nobody since Brazil in 1970 has dared use the dread dodecahedron of death formation! (it's how you use your first two subs that makes it particularly tricky to master...) Look out Barca I say!
The Moos
So the dodecahedron is basicaly built like a diamond? That's frightening
