Bates will always be a legend to me, okay he threatened to burn us with electric fences (amongst other things), but more importantly he saved us from going out of business, he put his heart and sole into keeping us at the Bridge, bloody hell he got us to cup finals and even got us into the Champions League. Not only all that but he then sold us to someone that could not only take us onto the next stage but also to stop us going down the skids.
