England captain John Terry may not play in the Euro 2008 qualifier against Estonia on October 13 as boss Steve McClaren may save him for the crucial clash against Russia four days later.

McClaren may take this difficult decision as Terry is one of four England players - Joe Cole, Ashley Cole and Rio Ferdinand - on a yellow card, so only one booking away from missing the Moscow trip through suspension.

And as three of the players are defenders, Terry could be the one to miss out, given he has a fractured check-bone at present.

. . . . . . . . . .

i wouldn't really see it as a bad thing. Russia would be a harder game for england , so resting him for estonia is the best thing to do. Also lamps is back so McClaren doesn't know wettherto play Barry with Gerrard or lampard.

It's not often I say this but; Yes, drop Terry! icon_eek.gif

England should be able to beat Estonia even without their leader and top defender. It's much more important to have him against Russia.

But who will be captain if JT is gone? Gerrard? icon_rolleyes.gif

Now I know someone with his heart and character will say they want to play every game, but I think he shouldn't be in the side at the moment? For his own sake as much as the teams.

He looked nowhere near fit against Valencia, I know it was a big game, we needed a leader, but he looked out of his depth and was at fault for most goal scoring chances they had. He also looked jaded against Bolton from what I saw yesterday.

Give him a break
