The first was the 2-1 win to the Turks in the first leg of this quarter-final. Fenerbahce have recorded one win in England, and it was a notable one. On 30 October, 1996 they beat Manchester United 0-1 in the group stages of the European Cup, but did not qualify for the quarter-finals - United did. European history:Fenerbahce have progressed from the Champions League group phase for the first time in five attempts. They've reached the quarter-finals of a European competition only once before. Current European form:Fenerbahce reached the quarter-finals after a penalty shoot-out win against Sevilla FC. It was their first ever penalty shoot-out in European competition. They have failed to win any of the last seven away matches in the Champions League, and have conceded at least one goal in their last five Champions League matches. Chelsea suffered their first defeat of this season's competition with the 2-1 reverse in the first leg. The Stamford Bridge club have not lost at home in their last 10 European matches, keeping clean sheets in the last three. Player and disciplinary info: Chelsea's Michael Essien will be suspended if he picks up a yellow card; Fenerbahce's Mateja Kezman and Diego Lugano also face suspension if booked. Roberto Carlos is the most experienced player in the Fenerbahce squad with 114 CL appearances and 16 goals. Real Madrid's Raul is the only player with more CL appearances under his belt (116). Chelsea's Andriy Shevchenko is three goals shy of his 50th in the Champions League. They lead the Turkish Super Lig with 66 points from 29 matches, two points ahead of Galatasaray. Chelsea recorded a 2-0 away win over Manchester City, thanks to an own goal by Richard Dunne and a score from Salomon Kalou. That closed the gap on Manchester United, the only team above them in the Premier League, to three points after the weekend's fixtures.
