Posted October 20, 200816 yr Czech international goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky insists he is not interested in making a move to Premier League leaders Chelsea. The 33-year-old has been watched closely by the Blues in recent weeks, as they appear keen on bolstering their goalkeeping options.Kinsky currently plays for Russian side Saturn and is regarded as one of the best 'keepers in that league. He has just one year left on his current contract and it is believed Petr Cech, who he is No 2 to at international level, recommended him to his bosses. However, Kinsky does not want to swap first-team football at Saturn for a place on the Stamford Bridge bench. "I know that Chelsea scouts looked at me," Kinsky revealed to Sport Express. "Such interest is very nice, but not interesting. "I want to play football, I don't want to sit on the bench somewhere and London isn't an exception. "We agreed with Saturn's director to start contract talks next week." Saturn's general director Boris Zhiganov confirmed to Russian television that Chelsea have indeed been watching their No 1. "Chelsea scouts watch Kinsky because they plan to include him on their list of possible candidates for second-choice keeper," said Zhigalov. "Antonin has a contract to run for one more year but we plan to extend this deal." Chelsea's interest in a new goalkeeper will also cast doubt over the futures of Cech's current understudies Carlo Cudicini and Hilario. SOURCE we dont need him..
October 20, 200816 yr Being watched by scouts, assuming this bloke was actually watched by Chelsea scouts, doesn't add up to positive interest, more likely just a "we need to check (no pun) out this bloke just in case something happens. If he looks like he might do a job for us, and we need a new/reserve keeper in January, then maybe we'll put him on a list of possible recommendations." Or something like that.
October 20, 200816 yr Author might also be a replacement for cudicini..i think we should just get a younger lad at the age of 16-24
October 20, 200816 yr The man is 33, if this is true he would end up being 4th or 5th choice, what sort of pfofessional accepts that sort of career move?
October 20, 200816 yr Would be an absolute waste of money and time. We've got great back-up keepers in both Carlo and Hilario, who seem happy to continue as they are. We should be using scouting time looking at younger strikers.
