Ah the pleasure of gloating over Scousers in defeat.
  2. My impression was that Joe Cole was running the show, but I won't be voting because of the quality of the stream.
  3. Missed the first goal and watched most of the game on a stream that for much of the first half especially resembled impressionism in motion. Picture quality was much better for the second half, but the stream froze occasionally. Even under those conditions it was apparent that we were all over them, looking nearly as comfortable as we did against Blackburn. Bolton may not have been quite as woeful as Blackburn but it was very much a case of carrying on where we left off. In fact with a little more composure/better finishing from Sturridge and a miss by think it was Kalou, in particular, we might well have won by 5 or 6. Really was a shame Sturridge was taken off but can't have done Ross Turnbull any harm to keep a clean sheet, even though he was actually called on to do very little.
  4. Never a free kick: stupid place to leave your head!
  5. Shame Sturridge had to go off. Ok he didn't score, but he did get into good positions but was lacking in composure. He can expect to have a limited amount of first team opportunities, so leaving him on for the entire game would have done wonders for his confidence.
  6. Hilario off injured - Ross Turnbull on for his debut. Oh dear.
  7. Can't get veetle working at all. Footyfirst on TVU works but quality isn't that good: tvu://70444
  8. Working fine, good quality but with Demo printed across the screen in dirty great letters. Edit: seems I spoke too soon. 5 minutes gone and it's frozen solid.
  9. Looks like the first game is on Friday June 11th. The official match schedule on this page: MATCH SCHEDULE 2010 World Cup South Africa All they've got posted so far are match numbers, dates and locations, no actual teams as yet.
  10. I haven't seen anything specific about this yet, although Dean Windass says it's time Phil Brown left Hull. From Sky: However, if the following, also from Sky, is anything to go, it may already be too late for any potential new manager to undo the damage:
  11. Like police dogs, they're a special breed. One of them once tried to eat me, I kid you not. This was after a match at West Ham queuing up outside Upton Park station, some four-footed hellbeast started chewing my shoulder. To be honest I don't know if it was me or my sheepskin it was trying to digest, either way it sh*t the life out of me!

So you think there'd have have been protests and calls for the heads of the owners if they'd gone into Sunday's match on the back of a 4 or 5 game winning streak? Yeah right.

I pretty much agree with all of that. As I said at half-time, if we hadn't scored it would have looked like it could turn out to be one of those games, the kind where we are totally dominant, have all the possession, plenty of chances, but none of them in the back of the net. Truth is, Blackburn were truly absolutely bloody woeful. And that needs to be born in mind to put Saturday's performance, good as it was, into perspective. Similarly with Atletico. Even though we came out 4-0 winners, for much of the first half, they were well in the game. At one stage I was reminded of the game at Roma, who had also been going through an awful patch, underachieving, confidence at rock-bottom, rumours of unrest in the dressing room and at boardroom level. And we managed to f**k it up big time. There's a long long way to go yet.
