Nibs Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Although things are far from great at present, at least we can continue to stake our claim to being “The Pride of Londonâ€. Look at the state of some of the other London Clubs: Arsenal – Since their victory over us they have had two far from convincing 1-0 wins over Wigan & Pompey, three draws and now with the loss of Fabregas look as though they could well struggle to finish in a CL place. West Ham – Form up and down – more down than up but a couple of wins over Christmas have lifted them up the table. Financial problems however are their main concern and the likelihood they will be selling more of their better (not many of them) players in January. Sp*rs – Ha! After 20 games currently level on points with third from bottom Stoke. Need we say more?! Fulham – Can’t say too much about them as they are in (for them) a pretty respectable 9th in the table and they’ll be more than happy with that if they are still there come May. Of course, no-one really takes them that seriously which was perhaps where we went wrong on Sunday? Of course the flip side to that is that we have failed to beat one of the above and have a measly 3 points out of a possible 12 against our London rivals. Still at least we remain Top London Club and I cannot see that changing even allowing for our poor form. And if that lot aren’t bad enough take a look at Charlton. They have even less chance of staying in the Championship than WBA do in the Premiership so it looks like they’ll be joining Dirty Leeds in Div 1 next season.
geezer Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Probably explains why so many Londoners follow Man Utd
Paul Seery Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Great photo and one that I fully agree with. We'll get our own back on our four neighbours in the second half of the season. :D
