  1. Yes I think that was the game, I remember walking along Hove sea front with thousands of Chelsea and a police van turned up to calm things down. This copper got out of the van looked over the railings at the mass that was walking along the seafront and radioed back to HQ ' I don't know how many we've got on duty today, but it isn't going to be enough' so funny
  2. Yes I do remember a chap called Jesus, blimey there was some characters around then but as you say he suddenly disappeared. incidentally I gather from friends of mine who are season ticket holders that there are not the same type of lads around now sign of the times I think. Do you remember the FA cup game against Brighton? must have been late 70's early 80's what a day that was, I've never seen so many Chelsea at an away game
  3. Bloody hell now I do feel old, I've been going home and away since1964 although not so much since about 88
  4. Sadly I think your right regarding playing us again, most of the Sutton supporters have a lot of sympathy with your demise although there are some who are quite happy the Robins are in a state bloody idiots. Good for you going to the Boom Boom they get some great acts in there, how long have you been following the blues? I'm also intrigued by all the films and pics you have from the 70's and 80's, although when I try to watch some of the clips posted all I get is a blank screen on attachment not sure why. Chat to you soon
  5. Hi everybody my first posting on here my memories a bit hazy but two stand out games for me are Tottenham away I think the year after we lost the cup final to them. Chelsea did over a couple of shops that belonged to Spurs players (one was Dave Mackays the other I cant remember) one of the shops was a butchers which resulted in Chelsea steaming into the Park Lane end with meat hooks as weapons. The whole game was littered with fights all round the ground. The other game was against Man U when Chelsea trapped a massive United mob before the kick off in Fulham Road what a brawl, those reds scattered all over SW6.One other game sticks in the memory Leeds away the season after we beat them at Old Trafford, huge Chelsea following as usual was ambushed on the way to the ground beside a graveyard. Remember a wrought iron fence being broken up to batter the Leeds boys. There were so many good times in the old days its difficult to recall all of them, much better atmosphere at matches in the 60's and 70's in my opinion. Btw Carshalton blue I follow Sutton Utd really miss those Boxing day matches with you, shame that Dipre is wrecking your club what a prat, to think he once showed some interest at Sutton. What an escape.
