Chelsea TV
I've received my season ticket renewal form through, and with it there is a 50% off voucher for Chelsea TV, which I'm tempted by ..... but I'm a bit confused about whether I can then watch it on Sky, or whether it only works on the PC (which I'm not interested in) - if I want it on Sky, would I have to sign up through Sky (and pay full price - £7 per month?)

Help .... 2nd January 1982
Methinks that must be it!! Though I'm so convinced that turning up at the gates of an empty stadium the opponents were Liverpool.... I wonder if I ever got to the 5th round game! Thanks for the confirmation of the weather Backbiter. I dont remember the winter of 81/82 as being bad .... the memory isn't what it once was........ Liverpool actually wasn't the next round, it was the 5th round - incredibly the games were really packed in, and with replays, we had loads of FA Cup games in quick succession! 18th January 3rd Round Chelsea 0-0 Hull 21st January 3rd Round Replay Hull 0-2 Chelsea 23rd January 4th Round Chelsea 0-0 Wrexham 26th January 4th Round Replay Wrexham 1-1 Chelsea 1st February 4th Round ReReplay Wrexham 1-2 Chelsea finally followed by 13th February 5th Round Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

Thanks for your honesty Xfactor :) I don't blame you - I would "cheat" if I could - the fault is with the system that allows it, not those that take advantage of it. I think I've just made an important discovery that helps .... I spose it wouldn't be in my interests to publicly declare what I think I've worked out .... but its worth noting that the system can be taken advantage of because the club should deal with it!! So I would guess that the Shrewsbury tickets went to those that could work the system, and that those that couldn't missed out..... The club really must fix it!!

I have 23 queue windows open, and still haven't got to the front of the queue in any of them, which, if I've been waiting 20 minutes should be the same as waiting 7 hours 40 minutes with 1 window So either it knows I'm in the queue multiple times and is clever enough to only queue me once, it isn't random or it is "random" but I'm disadvantaged by some other factor (e.g. internet speed)

Just been playing around a little and notice I can open multiple windows to seemingly get in the queue multiple times ... does that increase my chances? If I have, say, 40 windows open, do I have 40 times the chance of getting in?

Thanks - I feared as much!! So it really is pot luck (or IT skills for those who presumably have the know how to circumvent the queue!!) I bet internet speed plays a part somewhere too (I'm on relatively slow rural broadband!)

Bah - got in after 2 hours queuing!!! And I am 2 points short ...... Of course - its those 5 points I lost to Shrewsbury!!!! Now I have to do it all again tomorrow!!! (Ok, my fault for not knowing how many points I had, BUT there must be a better system than having to queue up online for 2 hours!)

Help .... 2nd January 1982
I've been talking with my son about the first game I took him to, and trying to work out who we intended to go and see, but we cannot work it out - any ideas? The story is, it was 2nd January 1982 (I think, looking at records for the game we actually went to), and we turned up at Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea v Liverpool, but arrived to a deserted stadium and no match, so we dashed across to Loftus Road and watched the FA Cup tie between QPR and Middlesbrough. However, looking at the records, that season, Chelsea didn't play any games between Boxing Day (QPR) and 16th January (Bolton). Bad Weather? Chelsea weren't in the same division as Liverpool at the time, but played them in the FA Cup on 13th February 1982 in the fifth round. A tie we couldn't possible have known about on 2nd January, So, the questions... Who were Chelsea due to play on 2nd January 1982? (I guess Hull in the 3rd round of the FA Cup?) Why were there no games for about 3 weeks at the beginning of 1982? Is there any reason at all why we would have thought Chelsea were playing Liverpool on 2nd January 1982? (And turned up to watch a game that wasn't going ahead)

Actually, out of curiosity, how did you beat the system for the Shrewsbury Tickets? What time did you join the virtual waiting room to get in early enough to get tickets? (I think in the future I might have to start setting my alarm clock earlier to get in the queue!!). Is the queue FIFO (First In First Out)? Or is there some random element to it?

I notice the queuing front page says that members tickets sold out this morning - don't know whether it was quicker or slower than the 20 minutes last week to ST holders. I couldn't disagree more - its appalling!! I'm trying to buy my anfield tickets this morning - I got in the queue at 06:30. I'm still in the queue 1 hour and 20 minutes later!! This isn't particularly abnormal. There MUST be a better way.......

Frustrated I missed out ..... was queuing to get onto the ticket website from well before 7 as per usual and by the time I got on, they were all gone! Why weren't they sold on loyalty points if supply was so far short of demand? (Come to that, why don't they sell all tickets based on loyalty points, and reduce the requirement by 1 point an hour or something, to stagger demand better and help the site to cope?) When will they sort that sh*tty ticketing web site out? Its been too crap for too long!
