Don't agree. That's a fairly standard way of making a bad challenge that most refs would be aware of, especially if they've played the game.

Good first half. Made some chances. Zouma doesn't inspire confidence and it might be effecting the players around him. I hope he proves me wrong but I think his chance will be gone when Rudiger and James are fit. That **** knew exactly what he was doing.

We're going to need it if we don't sort out the basic errors. I like the way we switch to let Tomori drift forward when we've got the ball.

That was awful defending by us. I thought 3 centre backs would limit the effect of simple balls played through the middle. Really need to sort that out, inexperience is not an excuse for basic defending.

Would you switch back to a 4 when Emerson is fit? I'm not convinced we have the players in the squad to play a 4 no matter who's available. Our best is probably Azpi/James, Azpi/Christensen, Rudiger and Emerson. That doesn't scream clean sheets even if we had an out and out defensive midfielder. Would like to see Batswayai get 30 mins tonight. Thought he looked good pre-season if lacking sharpness and needs game time. Maybe he'll line up with Giroud v Grimsby.

If we could play our full squad that would be my selection. I would maybe shift 3 or 4 of the players playing in what seems to be the football equivalent of brunch from the right side and spread them more liberally across the pitch ? Edit - It just looks like somebody threw the squad onto a table like confetti. Might look different between android/apple. Suggest not trying to show the actual formation but say what formation and list the players. On the other hand you can do what you want obviously.

Wouldn't change much for this. Without underestimating them this is a good game to work on the formation. Our teams average age is about 12 so no point thinking 5 days ahead. Maybe move Azpi back into the 3 and Pedro or Pulisic in for Rudiger.

Question is where would pulisic fit in. At least it would be good competition for place with CHO. Emerson/Alonso, Christensen/Tomori, Mount/RLC, kovacic/jorginho...probably depends on the opposition.
