I've just registered here to clear up some misconceptions. Papy came to us as a replacement for Assani Lukimya, a defender who was really likeable but in terms of football... not very good. He was one of the guys who win every tackle with their 100kg body but then proceed to stomp it right into the sky. So naturally, the expectations Werder fans had were not very high. It was a very pleasant surprise that Papy surpassed the expectations by a mile. In the two matches he played so far he was absolutely insane. He was really good at defending and really good at building up the play. I think, if he can keep this form he's the best player in our squad and while I admit we're a pretty sh*tty team, we have some quality players like Ujah, Vestergaard or Pizarro. I don't follow Chelsea that much, but as I can recall, your season hasn't been the best. No idea why Papy didn't play more than 10 seconds. If he plays on like in the first matches, you will at least be able to sell him for about 10M£. TLDR: If someone says Werder conceded 3, so papy sucked, he didn't watch the game. Papy is the best defender we had since Mertesacker.
