A poster that understands football. In my opinion, Potter should never have been sacked. The club was in disarray with change of ownership, stupid signings and uncertainty. Tuchel, Potter and Lampard all struggled for results. The situation got worse once Potter was sacked. As you’ve mentioned, when we were losing, we were still the better team and creating countless chances. Potters tactics worked, but the players failed to finish chances. The club failed Potter by failing to bring in a capable striker.

He’s not being picked by Southgate because he’s not been getting game time at club level. Mount is a brilliant footballer, hence why he was consistently picked at club level by multiple managers and at international level. That all stopped when the club decided he wasn’t deserving off a better contract, yet they’ll bring players in from abroad on 8 years terms and top weekly wages. It’s a disastrous decision by the club and the new owners.

Absolutely insane for the club to be letting Mount go. Have they learnt nothing from last season at all? If you don’t rate Mount, then you simply have zero knowledge of football. One of the brightest and most talented players in the country, who has come through the academy and they’re just going to let him leave to another big 6 team? No doubt his replacement will be yet another overpriced player from abroad, with no Prem experience who will flop harder than Mudryk. This club is a total mess.
