Man City told to go whistle again..
I don't doubt that for a moment. My elder Brother is a Chelsea fan and i remember his reactions. The nearest i have come to seeing us win a trophy was 10 years ago at Wembley in the Div 2 Play Off Final. Although i was ecstatic that day, i have absolutely no doubts that when we finally do win a trophy of real stature, it will be unbelievable. I've waited 33 years.... i'm in no rush lol.

Just had a quick look on Ebay. They don't fetch much, but they aren't fully signed. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trk...-All-Categories

Or you could ask about on a City forum?

Man City told to go whistle again..
Sorry. I have no idea what it would be worth? But it sounds like a very collectable item, and one that i'd love to own. I'm more than aware of our cup exploits, (or should i say lack of them) over the years, but unfortunately that is a little before my time. I didn't start supporting City until 1976. Yes i know... we won a trophy that year too... our last to date in fact. I think i am the jinx.

Man City told to go whistle again..
Apologies! It all stemmed from the discussion that we were buying for the sake of it, and not to strengthen our squad where it needed strengthening etc. Back to Terry....

Man City told to go whistle again..
Yeah i know.... just a typo that i corrected. Re right back slot... i'm not as worried as we have Micah, Ned and Zab. However... Maicon would be a class signing.

Firstly, the numpty (Sulaiman Al Fahim) that spouted off in the press was hoiked straight out as he was a complete embarassment, (and one of the reasons why we now get so much negativity in the press). He now has nothing to do with us, and is at Pompey. Our owners were rightly embarassed and horrified at his warblings and binned him. From what i read at the time, Chelsea were never close to signing Robinho, and i understand that they had been stated as saying that they would not be doing business with Chelsea because of bad feeling, and the way the club had gone about the possible transfer etc. The Berbatov thing, granted, appeared that way... but other reports suggested it was a deal between us and Spurs to purposely up his transfer fee. I don't really know why we would've got involved in that, but hey... maybe we struck a deal about something else too? I still maintain that we are looking to strengthen our squad in areas where we are weakest. If that happens to involve a player that is a key figure at another club, then so be it. I just hope we start to look at left backs, because as far as i'm concerned Bridge just isn't up to the job. I can see why you binned him.

No matter how much you'd like it as fans, there's no way the club will allow the speculation to drag on and on is there. For one it'd unsettle him, and possibly others. Nope... this will be sorted one way or another within a week i think. Steven Gerrard anyone?

Man City told to go whistle again..
I'd imagine Dunne will leave. Either that or he'll be a bit part player. Either way, i can't see him being captain. I would've said Barry, or maybe even Ireland.... but if this Terry deal comes off then it could well be him. You can never have too many leaders on the pitch eh.

Man City told to go whistle again..
Why would you want that? To be honest, this story won't go on long i reckon. It'll be sorted one way or the other within the week i think.

Man City told to go whistle again..
Who says that's not the way we are playing it?

Man City told to go whistle again..
Charming. I often read other team's websites when possible transfer news is knocking about. I always like to hear reaction from both sides of the story. As for Terry signing.... i guess we'll all know soon enough. He'll either make a statement of loyalty, or he'll hand in a written transfer request eh.

I really don't think we want the press attention tbh with you. With all due respect, i think you're way off the mark.

Just stating my opinion!

Man City told to go whistle again..
Fair enough. I still say there's summat to this story though. Why would City keep going back if there wasn't? It just doesn't add up... especially after the whole Kaka saga.

No sour grapes here. The whole attitude thing was mentioned to me a long long time ago.

Man City told to go whistle again..
It's certainly interesting eh. "By Jake. Posted July 4 2009 at 11:33 PM. have just got back from a testimonial game at yeovil town where the main guest star was meant to be John terry, " 1/2 hours before kick off it was announced JT wouldn't be playing and all the talk around the ground was that he was talkn to man city. then the announcement came over the tannoy to apologise for his abscnence but 'if you had the choice of driving to manchester to sort out a contract earning 300k a week or come down to Yeovil what would you do?' Then at the end Terry Skiverton (yeovils manager who he game was in benefit for) came over the mic and said 'first of all i'd like to thank manchester city for having a bid accepted for my star guest a few hours before my testimonial' don't know if this is common knowledge or not, incidently JTs brother Paul played in the game so i'm sure is pretty clued up on the whole affair "

That's certainly not the reason i posted on this board. I genuinely wanted to know the thoughts of Chelsea fans on this matter, and the Studge one too.

I'm not sure regret is the word. Just one of those things. Kid shows promise... kid makes it to the fringes of the first team... kid scores a couple of goals... kid gets a bit too big for his boots, and asks for silly money... kid get's released. Like i say... i wish him well. Btw... i'm in Dorset too.

It's always sad to see young home grown players leave, but with Studge, i'm not overly gutted. Whilst he undoubtedly has skill and an eye for goal, he's not as good as he thinks he is, and apparently has a bit of attitude... oh and he can be a greedy little so and so at times. I've forgotten the amount of times he should've passed to a team mate instead of going on his own. Good luck to the fella, but don't pin your hopes on him.

Aye, i did see something, but wanted to ask a specific question.... hence the new thread. But no worries.

Man City told to go whistle again..
Why have Chelsea made City's offer public? It would've been far easier to simply say no privately. By going to the press you could say that they are showing the fans publicly that they are opposed to the move. Gauging fan's reaction maybe even? At first i laughed at the story, but the more i think about it, the more i reckon this could have legs. Thoughts?
