  1. But how many wins does it take to start the momentum? Clearly more than one. You need energy to create momentum, and I don't any sign of that yet. Ambling about waving your little gloves in the air, like Anelka, doesn't do the rest of the team any favours, and he should be dropped on that count alone. I'm afraid we have too many fair weather players, who would perhaps benefit from having a large firework stuffed down their shorts.
  2. United aren't in the hole we're in, and they're getting better. We, however, seem to be in denial about how bad we are, and a scrappy win would probably have just prolonged the agony rather than kick started the revival. I think things may have to get worse before they can get better.
  3. If SAF can take the league's top scorer off after 60 mins, why do we have to suffer a sulking Anelka for 80 mins ? Carlo has no balls it seems to me.
  4. All that hugging made me squirm. FFS leave it till you've won the bloody match, and give the opposition the respect they deserve by not opening the champagne while the match is still being played. Today we played like a League One outfit in a cup tie, and in a way I'm glad we didn't take all three points because it would have fuelled the idea that things are back on track, which couldn't be further from the truth.
  5. Can we stop passing it across our own penalty area. Gives me the creeps
  6. United doing what they always do, with the usual help from the ref and a big slice of luck
  7. Sounds like Roy Hodgson will be on his bike soon, and I hope he gets the big fat golden handshake anyone deserves after spending 6 months with the whingeing scousers. Then again the team might just decide to turn up against Bolton and give him a reprieve. This season seems to be all about the power struggle between boardroom and players, with the "coaches" stranded in no-man's-land.
  8. That's why I quoted the gist of it. It's a link to The Daily Telegraph, honest!
  9. Sorry mate, I just assumed everyone had read the article "Emenalo, 45, was taken to Stamford Bridge as chief scout in 2007 by the then-manager, Avram Grant, straight from the Tucson Soccer Academy in Arizona, where he had been in charge of the '96 Girls side – the school's under-12s – for little more than a year. " Daily Telegraph 23rd November. Click here for girls under 12
  10. There's always a time before somebody wins something, but they're not normally judged on the time they spent in nappies. The point is that when JM came to us he had won something. Why is this such hard work?
  11. But he did create Joe Cole's goal at Old Trafford last season... I'll get me coat
  12. No, and I didn't read his school report either, but the CL trophy bit clinched it for me. Won the French league with Monaco didn't he? A step up from Arizona schoolgirls I'd say. Are you a fan of Emmenalo? Maybe you know something we don't but, to the casual observer, his appointment is a little odd. And where the hell is he if he's Carlo's assistant?
  13. When our midfield and front players are on song, your auntie could play centre back . We don't want to get too paranoid about defence when goal scoring is the way we do things.
  14. How so? Emmanem would be next in line, and we've all read his cv.
  15. There has to be more to this than injuries and squad depth. Until half time yesterday nobody looked like they gave a toss and, as if by magic, we suddenly start playing 2nd half. Maybe at half time Carlo said, "Feck you lot, I'm on the next plane home, and then you'll have the girls school coach as your new boss. It's your call"
  16. To me it's the only thing that would explain the last few weeks. Fergie got shot of Rooney when his influence in the dressing room might have been counter productive (injured my arse), and I wonder if we have similar problems that Carlo can't deal with, especially as he doesn't have that level of authority. With no proper chain of command, dressing room unrest can fester instead of being nipped in the bud.
  17. I'm intrigued by an earlier post (which I now can't find) about Malouda's goal celebrations. Who did he run to, and what do we reckon he was saying roughly? Certainly seemed to be an element of anger there, and it was very much a public statement for the cameras. There is no way a half time pep talk can change things that dramatically, so I reckon we've been witnessing something political in the last few weeks. Who knows what convinced some of the team to go back to work second half, while others were still supporting industrial action? Just a theory of course, but do we think football is immune from the general economic climate? Players will probably be worse off in some way through a reduction in perks/bonuses or whatever, and nobody likes cuts (especially when Roman is still bathing in champagne).
  18. Big positive for me was that we held on to the lead relatively comfortably, which we didn't do against Fulham. I'd have put money on Bolton throwing the kitchen sink at us in the last 10 minutes, and probably nicking one from a set piece. That's enough progress for me tonight.
  19. Carlo, for once in your life CHANGE something. Frank off, Josh on. Be brave. You have nothing to lose
  20. Let's not forget Malouda and Anelka are French. What do the French always do when the going gets tough? And they won't do what they won't do if the World Cup is anything to go by. Stroppy lot the frogs. Arsenal making EIGHT changes tonight.....
  21. I'll keep an eye out for the flying pigs
  22. Like the passion Roman is currently oozing in the West Indies? The head of the fish might at least show up.
