Meeting up in Munich
The Chelsea meeting point is Odeansplatz. They reckon Saturday is going to be nice here which brings the beergardens into play. The 2 nearest to Odeansplatz are the Viktualienmarkt (holds about 2000) which is right next to Marienplatz not far from Killians. I would suspect thats where the Bayern fans will be heading for. They tend to congregate around Marienplatz with their scalves tied around their wrists (just like the 70's!!). The other one is the Chinesischer Turm which is the massive beergarden surrounding the Chinese Pagoda in the middle of the Englischer Garten which is the otherside of Odeonsplatz. It holds around 5000 people. Walkable from Odeonsplatz or one stop up on the underground, Universitat

Meeting up in Munich
Zippy live in Hannover! That's almost as far away from Munich as you are!!Today was bloody hot 29 C!! Tomorrow they reckon it will be 14 C. So its all over the place at the moment The forecast is for showers next Friday and Sat but that's still a week away so anything might happen. Lets hope its dry and sunny. This place is at its best when the sun comes out. A bit worrying what they're saying about the Munich transport system not being able to cope and them having to close stations down if they get too crowded. Still if anybody can sort it the Germans can!! The Allianz and the Olympic stadium can be difficult to get to at the best of times so I would leve yourselves plenty of time if your heading there. Theresienwiese is more central (just one stop down from the Hauptbahnhof and there used to dealing with massive crowds at the Oktoberfest!! But I would still plan on getting there early!

Meeting up in Munich
I'm not confident at all but then I'm not a Chelsea fan but I live in hope!! I work here and both you and I know how insufferable the Bayern fans would be if they win! It would certainly be a lot quieter if they lost!!

Meeting up in Munich
Looking at the Merkur website as MunichFraser suggested I would reccomend either the Chinesischer Turm or the AugustinerKeller. Both are pretty central and can take large numbers. The Paulaner am Nockherberg is also a good option particularly if it rains as they've got a big hall inside but I would get their early to get your seat. The Hirschgarten is that bit further out and can be quite difficult to get to. Backstage is more of a concert venue

Meeting up in Munich
I think all of the official public viewings will sell out and it will be heaving with Bayern fans. they're all getting very hot under the collar about it!! Obviously if an official venue for chelsea fans is announced then that will be the best but if not then my suggestion would be to head for a beer garden. It will be dependent on the weather because they only open when its fine but if they are open all they will all show it on a big screen. they are doing the same for the DFB pokal (German equiv. of the FA cup) this weekend. If there is no official venue I would pick one of them, get yourself organised, spread the word and take over one (or two!!) of those. All the Bayern nutters will be in the public viewing. The one me and my mates are goung to is called MichaeliGarten which is about 15 mins by underground fron the city centre. I know they are definitely scheduled to show the game there. It holds about 3 or 4000 and it should be a right laugh. Choose something like that and you can watch the game in relative comfort, drinking German beer and winding up the locals. Then if (sorry when) Chelsea win hop back on the tube and get to Marienplatz where the fun can really begin!! All the Bayern fans would have crept off home with their tail between their legs and then you can party all night

Meeting up in Munich
I have been living in Munich for the last nine years so I thought I would post with a bit of advice. I'm not a Chelsea fan but will certainly be supporting you lot on the 19th!! Killians is ok but its a bit small and I really don't think its going to cope very well with the numbers of Chelsea fans that are expected. My advice would be on Friday night, if the weather is good and hopefully it will be head for the beer gardens. If Marienplatz is the meeting place then the Victualienmarkt is just around the corner. If people are heading to Odeonsplatz (which is only one stop up from Marienplatz) then head for the Englischer Garten (the big park in Munich and go to the Chinesischer turm beergarden. It holds about 5000 people and is a much better atmosphere than standing outside Killians. You can sink a few masses (litre of beer) and a half a chicken and you will get served with typical German efficiency. Killians will be mobbed and it will probably take you an hour to get served half a dodgy guiness. If its bad weather head for the beerhalls. There's a lot of them about. The Augustiner Keller is near to the main railway station, the Hauptbahnhof or the Lowenbrau keller at Stiglmaierplatz. Again those places can hold thousands. Somebody posted on here about turning Killions blue. Come on boys think big!! There should be enough of you coming to turn one of these bigger venues blue.
