g3.7
the film of the bbc programme "the thick of it" brilliant. very funny stuff. one thing to mention to the thick of it fans, a lot of the old actors are playing new characters. also, you don't need to have seen the thick of it to get into this. I recommend it to anyone who likes political satire / swearing.

Tim
Yes, he is one of the few characters who is played by the same actor, thank god. Can't wait to see this..
g3.7
Yes, he is one of the few characters who is played by the same actor, thank god. none of the characters have got different actors doing them, it's just some of the old cast were too unimportant or were conservatives (this time they don't say what party or what war they are talking about, so it could apply to anything in the past or future really), so those actors have been given new characters. capaldi is based on alistair campbell, so his character clearly is important enough to be in the film and so he didn't have to change characters. if that makes sense. moi
It makes complete sense and I am very grateful to hear it! I will have to buy it on DVD as it certainly won't be released in France.
Tim
Ah, ok, I had heard that Toby (?) was playing a different role, but guess I got wrong end of stick. As long as Malcolm gets some serious screen time, which he does, I am happy.
