I've never got the fuss over Ballotelli, never rated him.

Had many a discussion with friends over his status in world football, and the standard response is...'he has flashes of brilliance'.

That's just it for me, every average Joe can have flashes of brilliance.

Great players shine. They don't flash.

 

Hes just so arrogant and celf centerred that he has no shame shooting from any position, no matter how ridiclous. Hes the football equivavent of a chucker. He will claim every free kick, and every penalty, and kick up a fuss if he doesnt get his way. Usually his freekicks go nowhere near the goal. Hes a decent penalty taker, ill give him that.

 

Last season, while playing for AC Milan, he had the lowest shot conversion rate in Europe at 13%! Compare that to costas last season at atletico, who was at 40%, and lets be honest, costa isnt exactly clinal. Says it all really.

 

Hes bang average. There are at least 50 players in todays football who are more talented than him. And he knows it by now. But hed rather be perceived as a 'flawed genius' whos just lazy, than just a drop in the sea of football mediocrity.

 

This myth that hes some wunderkid is based off ot 2 games! Two! The cup final against Roma and the game vs Germany.

 

He's nothing but a fraud.

At Inter he was regarded by many as THE finest striker prospect in world football. What he has become is irrelevant to my argument. To have *never* rated Balotelli is a bit strange.

Exactly, all those words...prospect....potential, was he ever close to the finished article?

You can't ignore the fact he failed to produce in so many top games and also his awful (footballing wise) personality.
