Going to the game, can't wait.

Just saw footage of them arriving earlier today at Sydney Airport, ridiculous scenes to be honest... thousands of people jumping barriers to get selfies...looked like a bloody riot :laugh2: . But i guess that's the difference between a big club like us and a small one like Tottenham who arrived at Sydney Airport last week and were welcomed by about 2 guys and a dog.

The record crowd at ANZ is just under 84k which was for a Rugby League game. For football it's about 83.5k. They installed enough temporary seating to boost the capacity to just on 84k but 85k would be impossible unless you were including players, staff, steward, seccos etc.

Tottenham tickets went on sale 3 months ago at an average price of $80 per ticket and could only draw 70k. Chelsea tickets went on sale a little over 3 weeks ago at an average price of $150 per ticket and was sold out after less than a week :good2:  They added an extra 1k temporary seats to deal with the command that sold itself out in minutes.

Me too, coming up from Melbourne tomorrow morning. As much as it might just be a friendly I'm so excited to see our blue boys in the flesh :)

83,598 crowd which was about 250 short of a record. Unbelievable stadium. I came up from Melbourne with a large number of our supporters club there.  Great atmosphere in the pub before, on the train and in the Shed Bar round the back of the stand, but the acoustics in the ground did not make for a good football atmosphere. Nevertheless a fantastic day/night in Sydney and watching the players in the flesh for the first time for many people. The airport was chockers with Chelsea when I left lunchtime today.
