Lofty
From BBC Sports: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 513349.stm Midfielder Joe Cole keeps his place in the Chelsea squad after his successful return to first-team action against Valencia in midweek. Arjen Robben (knee) and Michael Essien (knee) are still out but Chelsea have no new injury worries. Tottenham defender Ricardo Rocha is set to return after he was ineligible for Thursday's Uefa Cup defeat to Sevilla. Skipper Ledley King is close to a return but he is unlikely to be risked against the Premiership champions. ____________________________________________________________________ Chelsea (from): Cech, Cudicini, Hilario, Ferreira, Geremi, Carvalho, Terry, Bridge, A Cole, J Cole, Lampard, Ballack, Makelele, Obi, Diarra, Drogba, Wright-Phillips, Boulahrouz, Shevchenko, Kalou. singablue
It is sure nice to see Joey back fit. I wonder if he starts ahead of Kalou and SWP given Essien and Robben out injured. Maybe he's the missing puzzle piece that has been troubling our diamond formation. I think Maka will start instead of Mikel who is needed for the holding midfield role for the CL 2nd leg in Spain. Lofty
To be honest, I never thought Joe Cole would actually start the game. We've been missing the man for too long though, so it was nice to see him have a 15 minute runaround. From the little I saw, he's not that far away from full fitness, and at this stage of the season, every little helps.
The Brit
I was at the game and from what I saw of joe he's still short of pace and fitness which is to be expected, but he looked in good touch, some great touches and skills, emphasising how much we've missed him...got great reception from the fans and if he keeps this progress up he will be starting games soon
