fwiw, Nike is close to a takeover of Umbro, especially after one of Umbro's largest block of shareholders -- the friendly folks at JJB -- said they approved the deal.

i wonder if this means by some time next year, England will be kitted out by Nike. if so, look for a future kit to look like some of these other monstrosities that Nike has befouled the United States with over the past several years in various sports:
