Cech 8 - Dealt with everything that was thrown at him. Was nice to see him back to his best after some shaky performances last season and the Euros.

Bosingwa 6.5 - Got skinned by Palacio at the start but was solid after that and he definitely gives us more attacking edge on the wings.

A Cole 7 - Was solid throughout the game until his injury. Hopefully, will be back soon.

Carvalho 7 - Did everything we have come to expect from him.

Terry 6.5 - Made a couple of uncharacteristic mistakes but recovered pretty well.

Essien 7 - For a guy who was fit enough to play only 45 mins, he did a good job. However, Mikel does seem to play this position better. Scolari needs to decide this.

Ballack 6 - Nothing spectacular. Was tidy with his passing but didn't influence the game.

Lampard 6 - ditto

Deco 7 - Cracker of a freekick but disappeared for large chunks of the game i felt.

J. Cole 5 - His first touch was atrocious today. Did absolutely NOTHING. Not the best way to solidify his place on the team with Robinho's arrival imminent.

Anelka 4 - Embarrasing dive in the first half and did nothing of note other than that.

Kalou 6 - Gave a freekick in a dangerous position near the end.

Disagree with a couple of points there.

Carvalho's passing was iffy throughout and Anelka didn't dive.

Didn't play brilliantly but got three points. Wigan made it tough. I'm happy.
