  1. Had more than his fair share of injuries.
  2. 16 year old Alan Hudson, recovering from injury.
  3. "Pint of Castrol for your Cortina, sir?" David Hay and Ray Wilkins behind the counter in a garage.
  4. Alan Hudson, Chris Garland and Ossie
  5. Oops - double post.
  6. From the reading various Chelsea literature, that side of things seems to have quietened down a bit after the Osgood/Hudson era. I wonder if the team from the mid-to-late 1970's did not succumb as regularly to the lure of the Kings Road, or if they were able to burn the candle at both ends due to being younger?
  7. An interesting read - fair play to him for holding out against signing a poor deal with Everton. Chelsea didn't only offer him a better deal, they treated him with respect.
  8. I reckon Chopper was born with that hairstyle - it never changed. Gary Stanley amazingly still sports the same amount of hair today - although it's grey. Never saw any resemblance between the various Wilkins brothers when they had hair, but they all looked very similar without any!
  9. A lot of man-spreading going on there - Charlie Cooke's shorts have practically disappeared! ?
  10. Watched by 4,477 - it was 4th round of the FA Youth Cup - Chelsea won 0 - 5 CHELSEA: Richardson, Sees, Sparrow, Lucas, Spong, Perkins, Bason, Wilkins, Finniestone, Maybank, Brolly. Sub: Davis.
  11. FA Youth Cup match v Stoke City - January 1973
  12. Thank goodness Uncle Ken kept his suit on!
  13. Chelsea U21's drawn in a group with:- Bristol Rovers Plymouth Argyle Swindon Town
  14. Steve Finnieston doing the obligatory "looking out the car window" pic - not sure if it's a Ford Escort?
  15. Gary Stanley at the training ground - 1976
  16. Is the person standing front-right of the guy in the grey hoodie wearing a headscarf? ?
  17. Could have been yours for £4 19s 6d - not sure if that was the going rate for designer gear back then? ?
  18. Is it true that the club did not insert penalty clauses in the contracts for building the new stand, and then various events caused delays in completion of the project?
  19. Interesting to see the price of clothing back then - the tank top was an expensive bit of clobber at £18!
  20. Thanks for posting - an interesting read. Always feel a bit sad reading articles like this, can't help wondering what might have been if Eddie had stayed around a bit longer.
  21. Can't believe it's been a year already. Talk Sport had some very nice tributes to him this morning, including a chat with his brother, Dean. I still half expect to see him in the Sky Studio, or hear his voice on the radio - always had an opinion and insight worth listening to.
  22. Can't believe that it's a year ago since Ray Wilkins sadly passed away - here's a few memories of his younger days at Chelsea.
  23. Times were so hard in the 1970's - Steve Finnieston and John Sparrow had to share a training top!
  24. Indeed it was - brought back many memories! Somebody else previously posted this photo of Cath at one of the Chelsea Disco nights. I believe it was shortly after Ray Wilkin's move to Man Utd, and he had been part of their team playing in the 5 a-side Masters at Wembley - hence the presence of the other reds in the pic.
