  1. Ah the Walking Sticks Semi, that was a classic game!
  2. LOL No, I was a trainee Manager at the Swiss Cottage branch of Tesco, and when I walked in there on the Tuesday morning the manager was standing there waiting holding up the Daily Mirror, and said "Your Fired!"
  3. #1 Jimmy Greaves #2 Zola #3 Kerry Dixon
  4. I was in the Army from 1966 till 1971, but based in London, after that I went back to DJing, and photography. I did get the sack back in 1964 for being on the front page of the Daily Mirror, but that's another story.
  5. I only got knocked out once, and that was when four of us took on the whole of the Wolves End up there, I tripped up the terrace step, fell over and on getting up all I remember was seeing the front end of a Dr Martin's Boot. Fractured left cheek bone resulted. Got a fractured skull and right wrist, after being attacked from behind with an iron bar at Plymouth away in 1976. Other than that I was lucky and got away with major injuries, mainly because going in hard and fast, put whoever you were attacking on the back foot. Mind you I've never been hit or kicked so many times in one day, as in the CBL, back in 1976, had bruises that lasted weeks after that one. The North Stand were schooled that you always back your own up no matter what, and anyone that ran, was dealt with after the game, the reason we used to attack the police was in order to get back people that were getting nicked.
  6. I posted this above "He got that nick name from Cliff Webb back in 1965 because he laughed like Eccles off the Goon Show. "
  7. 1964/1965 The League Cup. (Again I was up at Leicester when we won this.)
  8. I'm doing a series of screens to record all the trophies Chelsea have won, starting way back in 1955, and one that I was lucky enough to have been at the ground when we won it. Feel free to use them as screen savers. 1954/55 the Division 1 Champions
  9. Cheers, I did the Billy Bluebeat video's for Dave Johnson, The Roll Of Honour is a Labour of Love, to honour all those that are no longer with us, Nice to know they are appreciated.
  10. Just finished colourising "Eccles" 1970
  11. If someone can post a sharp photo of Alan, together with the DoB & DoD, I'll add him to the Chelsea Roll Of Honour
  12. "Gianfranco Zola"
  13. Put these video together for Dave Johnson "One Lion"
  14. Here's the July Update . . .
  15. LOL because he liked Eccles cakes" are you having a larf? He got that nick name from Cliff Webb back in 1965 because he laughed like Eccles off the Goon Show.
  16. That's me at 00:43 secs :-) In those days you were normally thrown out and paid to get back in again
  17. This photo was taken from the East Stand and looks out onto the crowd that invaded the pitch after the last game of the 1954/55 season, and were awaiting the result of the Man U. game to see if we'd won the League. That's an 8 year old me in the white circle.
  18. I colourised this last year, the Graffiti says "Give the money to Roy Bentley", as he was in a pay dispute at the time. Although some people that weren't even born at that time have said The sign wasn't green it was blue, I used to go regularly back then, to both Chelsea games, and the Greyhound Racing, and it was green.
  19. That was quite a night, we kicked it off before the game at their pub called if I remember right The Lord Nelson, then if kicked off again outside the ground. We were in the upper deck of the stand near the corner flag, and started ripping up the seats and throwing them at the Filth as they started to attack the Chelsea supporters in the bottom of the stand, then they shut the gates to stop us getting out, so we went down the stairs, and kicked the gate off it's hinges, and stormed out onto the road, run the Filth and Pompy.
  20. Sadly I was banged up in Dartmoor at the time so missed this one, But CD is one of the best, and joined us on the North Stand a couple weeks after four of us started it, and became one of it's main players, even thou he was only around 15/16 years old at the time
  21. I've merged the two ild photos from 1920 & 1922 into one as one was of the empty ground, and the other was the the 1922 Cup Final, and colourised them for a new book I'm working on with Rodney George, call the Illustrated History of Chelsea Kits. (Sorry about the watermark, it's to stop anyone selling it on ebay. It's also half the original size, and redused from 300dpi to 72.)
  22. I went to the home game in 1956 and we lost that too 2-1 :-( But if any of you had seen Roy Bentley, in action, you'd have had him up there with Greaves, Osgood and Dixon.
