  1. Correct. If the story is from Rob Tanner (he covers Leicester), then it might have come from the club. Anyone else and they are just repeating stuff.
  2. His passing is absolutely fine, people make it sound like he's playing in clogs. Yes he'll have some go astray, but that's because he plays at a high tempo and plays very quickly, rather than him not being able to kick it in a straight line.
  3. Don't think that was the case, Hannover announced deal their end but stuff still needed sorting with the player. He wasn't announced for about 5 days after Hannover said a deal had been struck.
  4. They work down at the training ground from what we can tell. I'm not one that falls for the usual ITK bullsh*t, but the guy has a decent track record with news from the club.
  5. They didn't claim they were, they have just given consistently correct information.
  6. The majority of our creativity has always come from the wide men and the players in the middle gettting the ball wide and forward quickly. From the front 6 Okazaki and Kante were defensive types with Vardy, Albrighton, Mahrez and Drinkwater more creative. The new formation would see the defensive players becomes Kante and Mendy, with Drinkwater, and the front 3 the creativity. I don't know why the press painted Drinkwater as being a DM around the time of the England squad selection, he's our creative midfielder. Mendy and Kante are quite different as well, Mendy is much more of a ball player. Watched a lot of his videos recently and he loves pinging diagonals into space for quick runners (would suit us down to the ground). Kante more the disrupter and ball carrier who is back to front all day long.
  7. We've been linked with a few right backs, we've brought in a guy from Sport Gijon who can play right back and centre back as well. Think we must have watched him against Athletico as Simeone is quoted as say "he's the best defender we've faced this season". Okazaki along with Simpson would be the first two people we'd look to replace. I can see him becoming a fringe player. We're rumoured to be after Luan from Gremio for £20m, so that's another attacker to put him down the pecking order.
  8. We want to strengthen the squad, we just bought Musa to break our transfer record again and that doesn't mean Vardy is going. We're replacing the likes of Kramaric and Inler, the fringe players. We've also got an ITK on our forum who has said if we can get the players in, we'll be playing a 4-3-3 this season. With the midfield three being Mendy, Kante and Drinkwater. With Musa, Vardy and Mahrez the front 3. The club without question want both, if Kante goes we'd buy another.
  9. Anyway... Rob Dorsett just said: I understand #lcfc offered N'Golo Kante new 4yr contract before Euros which he is considering. Reports of £29m deal with #cfc are "nonsense" He's the midlands sky sports bloke and is always hanging around the club. So, it might all be just that "nonsense".
  10. Not every contract is the same and it has been said on here and reported hundreds of times that Leicester only have to accept the highest bid OVER £20m. If you offer £20m +1p and nobody else does then you get him. If someone offers 35m, then his contract states that only that offer has to be accepted. This is being repeated by all the ITK's, so I'd imagine there is a grain of truth to it. There are probably dozens of stipulations about time frames etc. I never said we would enter a wage war, I said we were going to offer him an improved contract which would be £120k a week according to reports. I've said you can beat any offer we make, but as per Vardy... some people won't accept the highest offer if there is a pretty attractive one on the table somewhere you already love being. N'Golo drives around in a Mini, plods about in cheapo jeans, t-shirts and trackies, lived in a small flat. He's not the sort of person who is going to chase an extra bit of cash, that goes against everything we know about the bloke. If he goes, it's because he sees it as a better long term option, which is fair enough.
  11. It does amount to us being able to tell you to sling your hook should be wish to though, your bid would be null and void as far as the release clause is concerned. So we could say, you go to the highest bidder or you stay... if we wanted to. I'm well aware you could beat any offer we put on the table, but that does not mean you will want to. Arsenal could beat any offer we gave Vardy, but we offered him very close to what they did and he decided to stay.
  12. So you should, if the contact clause is true that's reported... the highest bid over £20m is automatically accepted. What may be the highest bid now, might not be the highest bid come 3pm this afternoon. Or this could all have been set up by an agent, like Vardy's was, when it became his choice he decided to stay. Talk of a deal being "agreed" by Leicester is probably premature, we don't have much choice if it's the highest bid. Good sources suggest we're still in the process of going back with an even larger contract offer for him.
  13. I don't think so, he had the highest if one of the highest passing percentages for France in the Euros. People make a big deal about our passing, it's not that all the players can't pass. It's that they are often risky passes and playing at very high speed to get forward quickly. When you play at speed and take risks then you're more liable to make an error. If you ask him to be more cautious, then he'll keep more ball. It's down to how you want to use him. For reference his pass completion was 82% for us, Fabregas was 84% for you and Matic 88% last season. It's not like he's got that far to improve. If he gives it away, it's highly unlikely it will be in a dangerous position anyway, even if he does... he'll just go and win it back again. I honestly cannot stress how bloody good he is at winning the ball back.
  14. Well the rumoured fee of £30m is somewhat more palatable than £20m, I'd have been furious to only get that... it's still an absolute bargain in the current market. We'll see what happens though, there was lots of this stuff written about Vardy and he stayed. Until you see him holding a shirt it's never a sure thing. The lads a sensation he really is, I've never seen anyone like him. Covers every blade of grass, an unreal reading of the game so that he just finds himself in the right place to intercept a ball or make a tackle. I've never seen anyone get standing ovations pretty much every game for some of the tackles and interceptions he makes. Almost never goes to ground and I think he only got booked once or twice last year... which for the highest tackler and interceptor in europe is incredible. He'll give you 8/10 - 9/10 every single game, honestly can't remember him having an off day or being out of a game. He's always involved, whether it's tackling and breaking up play, or bombing forward. Don't expect him to be creative, it's just not his game. He'll win the ball, carry it forward quickly and pass it to someone to do the damage.
  15. Just depends on the wording, they are all different with little clauses here and there. Key thing is really I don't think he or the club had any idea how good he was going to be. Nobody expected him to become a £40m player. If after we signed him for £5m last summer, you'd have said we could have sold him for £20ma year later. I'd have said that was great business.... now it would be bloody awful business!!!!!
  16. If that £35m bid is true, then it would have met the clause which was £20m. So now effectively the buyout clause is £35m and 1p, as we know the player won't go there, but it's effectively still the only accepted bid.
  17. We only have to accept the highest bid, if you're under the highest bid then you might as well not exist. Currently, we're led to believe the clubs friend Sven has bid £35m. All hearsay and rumour, but it's what the report says. Which does back up reports our end.
  18. Shanghai and Sven are no doubt inline to receive a little bonus already for them being complicit* in our little game. Ours owners have a lot of friends at clubs around Asia *Allegedly of course.
  19. Lets put it this way, unless Chelsea, or Real or anyone else are the biggest bid or at least very close to the biggest bid we've received, then the club will not let him go cheap. Player power has swung the other way a bit in recent years. Everton have shown with Stones and West Brom with Berahino, there is enough money coming into the game from elsewhere, not to be held to ransom by players. (As I said, I don't believe he's that sort at all anyway). In the current market we're talking about a £40-45+m player. We're not going to let him go to Chelsea for say £25m, if we've had a bid of £35m and his real value could potentially be almost double your bid. If he doesn't fancy going to who makes the largest offer (or very close), then he'll have to resign himself to staying at Leicester on 100k a week and suffer the awfulness of champions league football for a season. Would be nice if he showed a bit of loyalty, fair enough if we'd done a Saints and finished 6th. But winning the league, offering a very decent contract and being able to offer champions league football is something a bit different.
  20. In which case, we do not have to sell him. We only have to accept the highest bid, that currently stands at £35m and could rise quite easily. Matt Law will be getting his info your end not ours and won't have any idea what we'll accept. We do not want to lose him and the owners will fight all the way to keep him, these are not Southampton type owners, happy to cash in on assets. It's very much wishful thinking on the part of Chelsea that they believe we'll bend over for you because the player might want to go. That brings me onto another point, I have strong suspicions that this is very much his agent angling for a move. Everything we know about the lad from his time here and his time elsewhere is that he's a very shy and quiet sort. Keeps his head down, wouldn't say boo to a goose. He drives around in a Mini, wasn't interested in forcing a move from his last club unless they agreed a fee. Just a really sound, nice bloke... not your typical footballer chasing the cash or causing problems to get a move etc. He was also an Arsenal fan as a kid. Him "picking" Chelsea just seems a bit of an odd one, at this moment in time. No affiliation with you guys and no champions league this year with plenty of other interest around. Stinks a bit of agent manipulation to me at the moment. We had the same with Vardy, agent touting him around to all and sundry. Agent strikes up a deal after someone bites, when it's in the players hands... he decides he doesn't want to move. So I would take everything with a pinch of salt at the minute, even if Matt knows his stuff and it looks like it's pointing in one direction. As for the Chinese club bidding for him, strong suspicions there also that we might be using them to drive up the price. Sven is there and despite his sacking, he's still in contact with the owners and still very good friends. Don't be shocked that should you match them the price doesn't jump up again. If he does end up with you, I'd wish him all the best. Very disappointed he wouldn't give us one more year, but the lad is dynamite.
