As managers go, I'll boil it down to Tommy Docherty, Ian Porterfield (always reminded me of Quasimodo) and Avram Grant. Player wise. Goal keepers: Ed De Goey and Postman Pat himself, T. Courtois. Defenders: Eddie McCreadie, Mickey Droy, David Lee (of course), Frank Sinclair, Andy Myers, David Webb and Joey Jones (goes without saying). Midfielders: Late '50's pick Eric Parsons (his head was bigger than his body), Mickey Hazard (ditto), Zola ( double ditto), Steve Kember, Gus Poyet,, Nemanja Matic (stick his head on a pig's body and you wouldn't know the difference) and Cesc Fabregas, Strikers: The creme de la creme of unpleasantness Diego Costa and Wee David Speedie.

Not in the same class as Moyesie, but I always thought Mike Pejic looked like the 'missing link' between us the apes.

Should have nicknamed him Chucky.

If I had an All Star Ugly X1, Neil McNab would be first on the team sheet. What a mug!

Yes, they have quite a few players who can put themselves about. They beat Spurs by knocking them out of their stride but United matched them in the physical department. Plus the fact they are a team playing full of confidence.

I'm not convinced with this zonal marking system being adopted at corners. It was appalling defending which led to their goal. With Cardiff possessing some big, hefty units, running in unhindered for a few metres, they do take some stopping when in full flight. We were just not physical enough in these situations.

Cardiff are on a par with Huddersfield. A couple of logs of wood at the back, slow but good in the air, a nippy but average midfield and not too much up front. Complacency will be our main problem in this game . However, if Warnock keeps to his promise that he will "have a go" at teams, then they will be wide open to plenty of wallopings because they're not good enough, especially away from home. We're dodgy at defending corners so they might nick a goal that way, but this should be a comfortable win for us.

What can you say about that football we played? Exhilarating, one and two touch football with pace. Mourinho at the peak of his powers that season, in my opinion.

A couple of meaty jump tackles going in, but the referee doesn't bat an eyelid, and neither did the players.

Phil Cornwall is different class as Regan. Well done digging this advert out.

Was Dempsey pointing to the corner, he thought Venables was going to place the penalty? Turned out he was right!

I see Denis Waterman makes an appearance. His brother Peter, who was a very good boxer, used to have a mobile tea, food bar at the edge of Mitcham Common. After a game of football, it was a regular stop for a lot of lads in the 60's.

Fans ripping the shirts off the backs of the players at the end. They would be sh*tting themselves if that happened today.

There was a little knot of Burnley fans in the open area to the right of the Shed , about half way up. We were further down towards the dog track.
